One very ugly picture... (MotoGP spoiler - no race results)

I'm sure people might have missed the race due to LRRS & Bike week but there was a horrendous crash in turn 1 on lap 1 at Catalunya yesterday...

Gibernau seemed to have a front wheel/brake malfunction causing it...

Only 9 bikes finished the race yesterday IIRC, the race was red-flagged and restarted.

Pedrosa - DNF after 4 crashes - part of the big crash, fell 2 more times getting back to the pits, then crashed his backup bike later in the race

Gibernau - broken collarbone requiring surgery (ambulance crashed taking him to the hospital too!)

Capirossi - concussion + torn pectoral muscle with internal bleeding (In ICU after life flight)

Melandri - Concussion + "Cervical contusion resulting in encephallic spine injury". Not sure exactly what that means but he was also life flighted, and was put into a spinal brace before being picked up. (In ICU after life flight)

Nakano crashed out and wasn't able to restart in the same crash. Randy de Puniet also crashed out later.
