thats right the viffer had a bigger tank.

i filled the zx 2 or 3 miles after i switched to reserve. it took 3.88 gals. can't be much over a four gal tank. so lets say i was at 90 miles on that tank were talking roughly 22 to 25 mpg. nice.

The Ducati seems ta get 110 miles before the lite comes on in warmer weather. I must say the my VFR had a much better range for the type of riding I do.

With my average putting around, I get about 145 miles before my idiot light starts flashing on my 12R. This works out to about 32 mpg. I have no reserve but I do have a bar graph gas gauge.

During a spirited ride in Western NH, I took 2 gallons after going only 45 miles. 22.5MPG! That makes me nervous about riding the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. I'm afraid if I have fun I'll run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere.

If I run into you on a group ride, I'll let you sit on mine and rev it

But yea, you're riding a bigger cc'd bike, carb'd, with a smaller tank...plus you're riding it the way it "should" be ridden. Makes sense.

I went exactly 199.5 miles yesterday before she started sputtering and I had to go over to reserve.

I dont need to ride it 100% just yet, so its "enough" performance. Saving that for the track-um day.

Sportriding in New England I am getting 40 mpg with the 06 R6, At Deals Gap I was getting 24 with the same bike... and I was riding pretty conservative
When I had my 04 R1, I always got 45-48mpg with it... there's no need to rev the big bores out on the streets

If I want to really save on gas, I take the KTM 525, anywhere from 50-70mpg

Hey, how does the Ninja handle compared to the VFR? It's been so long since I've ridden anything but a sport-tourer.

i need a little more time to compare but there close i feel. i never had to much of a problem running with the "true" sportbikes while on the vfr.
