comparing it to videos of Palmer which I've never ridden it looks much better.

The retaining walls aren't in yet. Palmer looked great until they dropped those in place. I do agree that they appear to have a little more space at Tamworth, but in looking at the fast corners, I see steep walls and steep drops. I'm not trying to be debbie downer. It looks gorgeous. But I have now seen 3 new tracks through readiness, and am offering a dose of realism.

Re: Valley Motorsports Park - New Track in Tamworth NH

Interesting. My opinion differs. I see way, way more runoff. Especially in the aerials they've posted.

Not that it matters. At this point its all little more than a WAG. We all know video distorts things. Time will tell for sure.

And no matter how you cut it this is all good stuff for New England track fiends.

My concern is the costs. This place is going to be expensive!
    Possibly worth every penny though.

My guess is it will be the most big-bike friendly spot in the North East.

Call me crazy, but I don't see any runoff at all in any corner in this shot. They will need to put walls in. It is the last thing each track does before they open. Just my educated opinion... I've been wrong before. But who wants to go off the bank first?

that top corner they definitely will be adding a good sized barrier. stuff like this I see as poor track layout planning.

Re: Valley Motorsports Park - New Track in Tamworth NH

The corner in the foreground also requires a barrier. Cars going fast would not want to spin and back into that ditch or go up the banks and roll back onto the track...

When I studied the videos, I saw most of the fast corners have issues with banks that will require walls to keep the cars safe. Most of the slow corners have more runoff than required. It's a little bit backwards for bike safety. Car track.

But hey, it is a gorgeous track and I can't wait to ride it. I was just a tad bummed when I studied the vids. You can't really tell til you ride a place, so I'm going to reserve judgement. I won't be surprised to see walls go up though.

if they clear out the rocks and just make it a grassy hill it would be fine. This is the last turn coming onto the straight at Grattan. that banking as steeper than it looks and the its the same on the side the cameraman is standing on. Cars have gone up the banking on both sides. I've even heard of cars going up the left side flipping, landing on the guard rail, sliding on the roof on the guard rail and flipping back over onto their wheels on the dirt road on the other side.

Re: Valley Motorsports Park - New Track in Tamworth NH

I took a tour at Tamworth back on memorial day the videos and pictures dont do the place any justice... it is much bigger and more open than you even realize and the track is a lot wider than it looks. yea there is still a lot to do there but they want to be able to have a safe location for everyone to play and that includes airfence and soft barriers in motorcycle run off areas.. atleast you dont have to worry about going off track and landing on top of you buddy on the track below lol

Was on it this past weekend. Safety isn't installed yet but there is a lot of room. There will be some walls and run of increased. It is reeeeeeealy wide.

fyi that turn is no where near as tight as it looks from that angle. yes they are still going to be putting barriers there but there really is no way you should go down on that corner

Ok, funniest thing I've heard yet! You realize that people will find a way to crash almost anywhere? That is one bit of experience I can say is definitively true. If it bends, they will crash. And sometimes even if it doesn't.

ok, so Tamworth would be the only big bike track in the North East. but if it's track-day only, technically it would still be no big-bike tracks in the North East

can't trust the opinion on a dude that spent so much to wrap his race bike, when the bike is worth $20 with a full tank of 93 gas

Again, I think the place looks gorgeous. I'm not a safety nazi. I can't wait to ride there. It will have walls though. Of that I'm pretty sure.
