I figure that a lock is only a derterant for the would be theifs, omiting whimsical theft. If they are specifically targeting and want my shit, they are going to get it.
Same reason I don't lock my house. If the theif wants in, he/she is getting in if the door is locked or not.

Yep, if someone REALLY wants in, they're goin' in. A locked door will keep an honest person honest though.
I think locking the house is more for personal safety than home security; you're not likely to walk in on a burgular if you see the front door busted in.

On a related note, does anyone know the percentage of bikes with lojack that are never recovered? I looked online but couldn't find the answer.
I believe it is in the realm of 20%, but I don't quote me on that.
