    VFR Seat?

    http://i.imgur.com/8TxoZ2r.jpg

Hey everyone! So after a year of riding Suzuki gs500f and transitioning between that and my dad's Kawasaki ZX9R, we figured it was time for me to move on to a bigger bike, so he got me a Honda VFR800. I have been riding it for less than a week now and I have fallen in love. It is a great bike, and a good fit for me. He has just gotten the registration, but we are having trouble finding a spot to put it. In the past, we used the underseat compartment to store the registration along with some tools and insurance stuff, but in the VFR, you need a wrench to open the seat cover. Is there any way to change the seat cover mechanism or should I try to find another spot to put the registration?

I'm not familiar with the VFR seat, but do a search for "seat pin mod". I know a number of people that have done something similar on various bikes.

That's a 5th gen. VFR, you don't need a wrench to remove the seat - you just need the ignition key.

I keep my insurance a card and bike registrations with $50 cash in a ziplock bag in my leathers pocket. Every once and a while you fill your tank somewhere that doesn't take cards......

I like to hide my registration in the spark plug hole. Just keep a plug wrench with you at all times!

Previous owner replaced the stock seat with a Corbin. It's a really nice seat. But they had to modify the solo seat cover mechanism, so now it attaches with two bolts.

One options is to go with an hex head bolt. Then attach a small allen wrench somewhere inconspicuous using Velcro or something similar.

Only the solo seat cover needs bolts. Take it off and ride without it.
