    Vinyl installers?

I need some schooling on vinyl. I've been playing with the idea of setting my 1199S apart from the others. Nothing overly dramatic, just adding some white. I don't really want to go the paint route in fear I'll get tired of it and want to change it up from time to time. Is vinyl a bad way to go? If not are there any VERY reputable places that will really take their time to line everything up perfectly? I've seen some hack jobs over the years and would hate to have some hack mess it up. Lastly how is pricing? Obviously I would assume it depends on how much you get and how detailed it is but...?

Hey I think you should have http://drippinwet.com make something like we saw on Shane's/MOB racing Duc and have it professionally installed by a Vinyl expert...or find out who did there stuff..... My 2 cents

Never heard of plastidip. I'll have to check that out.

I know you've talked about dripping wet before. Was hoping to find someone local that could use my actual bike and make a template. I wasn't impressed by shanes vinyl job at all. The s heme wasn't bad but the fitment was horrendous.

I'm probably going to plasti-dip my SV from yellow to white this week sometime. It's neat because you can peel it off with no damage to the original paint if you don't like it.

Plastidip doesn't have the smooth finish that vinyl has. It's a bit more rough (although massively cheaper).

Plasti- dip is making the rounds in all the car forums. It holds up well and like mentioned can be peeled off without damaging paint. I have it on the emblems on my truck.

    Re: Vinyl installers?

Smoothness is kind of a priority. I know it won't be under the clear coat but having the plastidip described as somewhat rough is kind of a turn off. Rather do it right and have it professionally done since I just spent 25k on the bike.
    Keep the suggestions coming though!
    Thanks guys!

I agree with you on that. I wouldn't want to do a whole bike with it.

It appears that it's possible to paint over plasti-dip. A coat of clear and a wet-sand and polish might help.

Paint it!!! Vinyl is tough to work with and may never look right.

Paint would definitely be the way to go for a big project. Which is now what I may be leaning towards. Just alot more than I planned on originally spending.
