    VSTROM UP

After 2 weeks of battle with the paperwork monsters the new/old Vstrom 1K is on the road. (2006 leftover 1K)

    WOOT

Note: did a 50 mile oil change once again what came out looks like metal flake paint DO it yourself next time

I am happy with my choice but she does sort of say parts bin scavenger hunt, but this is the 1st bike in decades where I don't have a neck ache after ride 1

Enjoy it. The V-Strom isn't exactly the most beautiful bike on the road, but damned if it doesn't just beg to go long distances. I've racked up almost 27k miles on mine in just under two years of ownership.

    Re: VSTROM UP

I had a Vstrom 1k and after buying my Busa my wife kvetched at me about having too many bikes. One day a fellow came down the driveway and offered me what I had paid for it and I took it. I am a damn fool. It is the bike that you can answer the question I wonder whats down that dirt road over there or head down the Highways passing about everything in sight.

    Re: VSTROM UP

I actually was after real world speed/fun

I am convinced that with LEO's crawling over everywhere that "fun" will be on the odd road or the not numbered road where pavement is broken and lumpy etc. The 8A's and the river roads, with the USA bleeding wealth and the virtual end of eastern farming our beloved country roads will degrade to deer tracks.

If I had infinite $$$ I would have tried a hyper motard but believe the Strom is a contender. I am moto tune breaking in so full on full off etc is not conducive to suspension analysis but so far the holes and cracks have passed under with little disturbance.

    Oh and yes

I won't be turning around when the pavement ends
