I felt sorry for the girl but, when you get on a bike with someone you should know what he or she is capable of....i wonder if when he ran did she beg him to stop or what went through his head running with her on the back.and as for guys pulling shit on the highway...I have always said if they had somewhere to do this like a controlled area..and when they do find one the police is effing with them anyways....old airport and the list goes on...they would keep it off the Hways....but some will never stop and we cant prevent that, and it will go on forever....but I have always said U make your bed and sooner or later you will have to lay in it.

controversy / titillation sells... and, unfortunately, they have plenty of fodder out there to feed the "extreme" mill...

hey! is there sumpin' about the air in Tampa that makes so many of those bikes capable of speeds "over 200 mph"?!?

HP restricting started long before the GSXR1000. Switzerland was mandating it in the late 1980's.

And you have another version of it in Europe - tiered licensing.

I thought you meant coming as in "to the US".

Was there any bike before the gix to have been sold with a limiter in the US?

    What is tiered licensing?

Doesn't Japan have HP limits too?

I think the majority of japanese sportbikes 600cc and up either aren't sold in Japan or come with severe limiters. The VFR even comes with them so the limit is somewhere under 100hp. (Easily reversible though, most of them are intake limiters + computer software)

what I've seen of it is:

    - max engine size limits based on age.

    - test w/in certain engine size ranges... ya can't test on a 250, then go jump on a literbike-- gotta test again for higher cc bikes, on a bike that's w/in the same size range.

and 400 hp corvettes, capable of 150 mph out of the box are purchased for a sunday drive, not high speeds. Motorcycles are a tip of the iceberg. My 4400lb p/u is capable of 120mph. So I ask, why haven't they governed autos? One answer, $$$$$$$. But that's a whole other debate. Point is, these kids should not be pulling this shit on the street...period (a freeway....cmon). We are all guilty of the occasional wheelie during that group ride, but this goes to another extreme. This is very bad for our sport.
