Bump. Found this looking for something else. It's some funny stuff.
Aaaand has been on my mind lately. Recently bought a V-Strom; a bike so ugly 99.9% of the riding public just won't understand it. Feel like I've had my hair died red, found out my dad is actually my step-dad and have been beat senseless. I probably deserved the beating, but the hair.. Nobody waives at me! Boo frickin' hoo! My life.. it's..
So I said screw it and started waiving at nearly every damned thing that comes at me. Doode. Suddenly I'm cornering better, my throttle and clutch control have totally come around, my bar vibes have gone away, my mileage is through the roof and I think my tires are actually growing rubber. A week or two more and we may be looking at total world peace.
Wiiiild.
Seriously though, I kinda enjoy waiving at everyone, seeing who will waive back.
So far the 'wing guys have my back. The rest of you are a crap shoot.
Funny, I was going somewhere on my Zuma last week, and some guy on a road king waved at me like I was on a fat boy. I was honestly so stunned I didn't even wave back in time.
The scooter riders get the biggest wave from me!

When I rode my Sportster, I wore a white FF helmet, hi-viz jacket, and only waved at sport bike riders.
That said, it's FS on eBay as we speak. Just too strange a crowd. Parts guys are good, though.
The other day I'm on a little back road on my way home from work and some little kid on a bicycle and his dad are coming toward me. Of course I slow way down and I wave. I thought the kid was going to fall off his bike he waved back so hard. Luckily he had training wheels so he didn't fall off. His dad cracked up and it made my day.
I wave at pretty much everything with two wheels and a motor. And little kids on bikes. Whatever, it's just a wave. It doesn't hurt anything and who knows, it just might make someones day.

Ever pat your head to try to call out a hidden LEO to a rider... then realize your in your car?
Reach out the window and pat the roof I guess?
I wondered how to signal for upcoming fuzz, I've been flashing my headlights........
Awesome thread... and I wave at everyone...

I only wave to dry my nail polish. But I've been wondering lately, what is the best nail polish for motorcycle waving? If only there was a group whose experience I could trust in such matters.

People almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of proof but on the basis of what they find attractive.

I saw it on a bumper sticker, so I know it to be true.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
And now that I've read it on the internet, must be true.

Last summer I pass a group of HD's going the other way on rte 1 in Rowley. The 3rd guy in line stick his hand out to wave, realizes Im on a sport bike and retracts his hand like it was scalded by hot water, afraid his Harley friends would see him wave at me....I laughed.
I never wave.
