So yesterday we were out riding enjoying the beautiful 50 degree weather and we were heading out to meet up with a friend so we could continue our ride. We set up a spot to meet at a gas station, as I was driving down the road towards the gas station I noticed a side street was blocked off by the police. I pulled into the gas station and looked down the street and saw a blue and white gsx-r600 standing up by itself and a car parked across from the bike about 6-7 feet.
I waited until my friends arrived and asked the cop if it was an accident, he told us it was and he went into detail about what seems to have happened. Looks like the kid was in the parking lot of his apartment building just practicing on the bike, so he figured it was a good idea not to wear his helmet. Turns out he was just driving in the lot and lost control of the bike drove out into the street t-boned a car that was traveling down the street and the kids head cracked open, brain matter all over the street and rim of the car. Helmet could have saved his life, and it makes it hard to understand why people wouldn't want to wear something to help prevent anything like this.
In other news, I hit a pothole and dented my front rim....Son's of bitches.
Also this was on the Medford-Stoneham line. Right around Woodland Rd. in Stoneham and Highland Ave. in Medford.
