Do you wear a full suit on the street?

Just was wondering...how many here where a full suit on the street when they ride? I'm talkin kneepucks and all. Not only do I think they look bad ass but the added protection and no worries if a knee drags is nice. Although I admit it can seem overkill.

If I'm putting around the city I wear jeans, boots, gloves, jacket, lid. Sometimes just sneakers. A risk I choose to take due to the low speeds and short distances.

Otherwise I'm in 2pc leathers or my 1pc leather suit all the time.

EDIT: both suit have pucks, but I don't put em down on the street.

If I'm going out for a ride it's full gear but I've never put my pucks on but it's not a bad idea, not that I plan on getting a knee down because if I do the rest of me is probably going down as well. Around town I skip the leather pants and go with jeans.

I only wear shorts, flip flops, and a hat when I ride on the street so you can clearly see my tentacles dragging behind me. Kidding, always a helmet, jacket, gloves, jeans and boots. I take the suit out on the road every once in a while

I would skip on the full leathers if I trusted anyone in their cars... I'm a little paranoid, but I think that's a good thing.

I'm not going to crash on the street due to a riding error... it's just not feasible anymore. However even if I pay my full attention and take all necessary precautions, I still know it's possible for some idiot to take me out or force me into a bad situation.

Maybe I'm going a little over the top, but hey...



Like I said I skimp down on the gear for shorter/slower riders around the city. But to ride out to my garage in Wayland (mass pike then route 30) I'm in my 2pc every time.

I have a suit, but don't wear it on the street. I also have separate leather pants and jacket, which I do wear on the street. (the pants have the velcro patches for pucks, but I have never put them on)

I usually ride jeans jacket boots gloves lid. Today however I am riding from Narragansett RI to Avalon NJ, leaving in about 15 minutes, and I will be wearing my full alpinestars suit, pucks and all.

I may look overkill, but I will be in one piece on the other side of NYC. It will be hot though... A* needs to work on their ventilation...

Don't buy a suit online unless you know it will fit properly... fit is the most important. I like mine a bit snug.

Get one with pucks or velcro for pucks in case you eventually need them (track days, etc.)

long rides, full gear. neck to toe in A* with the pucks. Probably should hit them with a belt sander so I look badass. Suit it a 2 piece though, pretty slick. Shorter rides I leave the pants at home. Shorter rides, as in few hours, or doing errands, etc.

I actually got really lucky that the suit that I bought online fit like a glove, with all the protection I will use underneath.

If it's an all day ride I'll use the 2 piece leather. Just for the added protection. My pace is much slower on the street then it was before I started loggin in track time. But a 50+mph slide is still a 50mph slide and I'd rather have the leather (for example, the guy from the 675 forums who had a cage clip his rear tire going from the right lane to the left lane with him in the middle..his textile gear did "enough", butleather would have been better)


Kicking around town or running errands it's my dragin jeans with the leather jacket. Always boots, gloves and helmet though.

anyone know what the burn through time for regular jeans is? less than half a second or so? 20mph slide might land you in the hospital getting skin grafts. I've never had road rash but I know someone who's gone down without leather....not pretty. Even on the shorter rides with out the leather pants, the thought is still there. But if I had to chose where the road rash was gonna be, I'd take legs over arms and hands
