    Brake fluid etc.

Anyone have any good deals on good stuff? sources, etc? all i know is that i need DOT 4, just wondering what you guys suggest... guessing it's no different than Automotive DOT 4 fluid? if so i was thinkin ATE Super Blue or Motul & i'm guessin those are the two that you guys are gonna bring up, but if you guys have any suggestions whatsoever, fire away.

sucks.... i wrote up a HUUUUGE list last night of stuff i gotta do before VIR & there's even more in my owners manual for the 7,500 mile & 12,000 mile checks... replacing the brake fluid is just one of the things on that big expensive list.... and time's getting AWFULLY short

I use the dot 4 fluid and a Mighty Vac and change the fluid every season. The mighty vac makes it quick and simple so that even you can bleed them right.....

    Brake fluid etc.

I've never noticed a difference among fluids, but then, in the three street bikes I've owned I've yet to have one that had a decent front brake setup. Went from an EX500 with a fubared front caliper to a zx6e with spongecake forks that like to dive under braking, to a 6r with warped front rotors. I'm hoping that with the new rotors, steely lines, and fancy pads I'll finally get the stopping power I'm after, maybe it'll call out for some fancy fluids too.

Speaking of brakes, I just got turned on to a neat little bauble sold by LP, http://user856609.wx8.registeredsite...ub3.asp?id=350 think I may need to order me one of them. They make them in singles too.

I'll have my mighty vac down at VIR if you want to do your brakes down there, takes all of five minutes with the speed bleeder.

Pete, if you really need to have the fancy blue stuff, I'll bring you some, I have lots of it. But I really dont think its going to make any difference, I doubt that you are going to boil DOT4 fluid on a bike.

hahaha, oh yeah Chris, i definitely need it... you know... for the chicks

but seriously, if any DOT 4 will do then any DOT 4 will do... i was just looking to find out who uses or prefers what, if there's any difference between fluids & if anyone had any good leads.... that's all. I've heard good stuff about ATE Super Blue & figured i'd give it a shot... but wudevah.

But yer still welcome to bring the superblue if you like, Chris

I've gotten the ATE super blue from http://www.bmpdesign.com/ a few times in the past. Actually last year too, currently in the clutch and brake system

    http://www.bmpdesign.com/product-exec/product_id/319

I've had great luck with them, they sent the wrong fluid to me once and they quickly sent out the ATE super blue at NO CHARGE.

I got it because I just wanted virtually the best. Plus the bling of the blue
