    Wheel removal on SV650

So I have to take the wheels off the SV so that Tricky Mike can mount up some fresh rubber for me this weekend. Anyone have a set of steps to follow for the SV?

    Better yet:

    1. ride bike to mike's

    2. have mike pull the wheels

    3. ride home from mike's

Jk, I'll make a more useful post in a few minutes
It's really straight forward though... just need front & rear stands or jacks or something to keep the bike up off the ground... and a 14(?)mm hex which took me forever to find (ended up finding one in a 3pk at AutoZone thanks to Daviid )

Don't crush the speedometer drive when you refit the front wheel.

    Rear axel nut is 22mm...

Have an extra set of hands to help you put the rear wheel back on. Juggling the axel, both spacers, and brake caliper is a bit much for one inexperienced person to handle. It will get a little frustrating.

    Re: Wheel removal on SV650

    Front
    1) remove Caliper
    2) Loosen big nut
    3) Loosen Pinch bolts
    4) Remove Big Nut and push axle out the other side.

    Rear
    1)Remove Nut
    2) slide out axle , Take chain off sprocket, Wheel will fall Caliper stays where it is.

Tips. Spacers If it cam off the left side It goes on the floor on the left side and the same with the right side That helps you remmenber where the spacers and washers go,

I heard the same thing about him being the Jockey of juggling. Also, thanks for the offer Schleppy. I have all the tools and what not and amazingly those odd sized metric sockets. I believe I'll need a new cotter pin as well, right?

You can reuse the old one if you must. Hell, a paperclip is better than nothing.

if you can bend the cotter pin w/o breaking it then there's no need for a new one.
