How much does it typically cost to have a wheel straightened?

MC wheel charges $150 and doesn't finish the area they worked on. You'll have a patch if primer on it. MC is located in NH and you can drop off and wait.

Will's Rim Repair charges $90/wheel and finishes the repaired area. You won't know where the repair was. Will is in South Carolina. It costs me $35 to FedEx a set if wheels. I've used his services 3 times now.

tell him when you need it back by.
i've gotten mine within 1-2 weeks.

tell him you're a referral from Jim on the MRRF forums. i believe he was doing a 10% discount (or something like that) for us when he joined.

I've used MC for 2 bike wheels and a car rim. He does excellent work. Actually delivered my Triumph's front wheel to my house because he was meeting friends in my town.

He did AMAZING work, did not hut the finish of any wheel. And it only ran me 40 bucks (new rim for the Triumph would've been $400 and ebay never seems to have them kicking for long).

Is it worth a try to straighten lace up SuMo wheels?

I can get a new rim but than have to re-lace it...

    Re: Wheel straightening

Lacing a wheel is probably one of the easiest 'daunting' tasks you'll lever do. Truing it takes a little time and skill, and it helps if you have the proper setup to do so.

It's really hard to 'lace straighten' a wheel due to the torque needed to actually correct the flaw. You will 9x out of 10 end up with an egg shaped rim due to trying to put extra force on the opposite side of the dent.

    Re: Wheel straightening

I can lace and true wheels... on a bicycle, done dozens of them, pretty sure I can master the SuMo wheels, in fact kind of looking forward to trying it
I was just wondering if they can straighten the dents in the lace up rim (got 3 spots in the rear rim that need work) or should I just buy a new rear rim and be done with it. Got new front rim waiting in the box, OEM Behr, straight form KTM, got a deal because it had few scratches from handling. On the fence about buying vs straightening the rear.
