    A one-Wheeled Trailer. Still needs to be registered?

    I want one to carry extra stuff. I'm pretty sure the two-wheeled trailers need to be registered <--correct me if I'm wrong.

    Any reg info from the New England states on whether or not a one-wheeler needs a plate.

    Why wouldn't it need a plate? The CT DMV makes no mention of number of wheels, so I wouldn't expect them to treat a 1 wheel and 2 wheeled trailer any differently. If anything, it should go on # of axles.

    I'm thinking about how a detachable side car doesn't need a plate; only one extra wheel. Maybe the trailer falls into that category too?

    The sidecar is considered an accessory, the trailer is considered a trailer.

    They don't, they do however define tow behinds. It's a trailer, register it.

    CT law defines a motorcycle the same with or without a side car, so adding one would not require additional registration.

    (54) "Motorcycle" means a motor vehicle, with or without a side car, having not more than three wheels in contact with the ground and a saddle or seat on which the rider sits or a platform on which the rider stands, but does not include a motor-driven cycle, as defined in this section, or a vehicle having or designed to have a completely enclosed driver's seat and a motor which is not in the enclosed area;

    A lot to look through there. I like this one: "(b) No person shall operate a motorcycle on a highway or in any parking area for ten or more motor vehicles if the motorcycle is equipped with handlebars that are more than the height of the operator's shoulders." <-- ape hangers are for small parking lots only lol

    I sent an email to the dmv. They've answered me once before.
