    Who's got heated gear?

So, my ride in to work was chilly enough this AM to get me thinking about some heated gear...
Who's got what and how well does it work?
    Any issues with your battery?
Looks like the Superhawk puts out about 280Watts (max) at 5000RPM... I'd love to run a jacket liner and some grips, but want the bike to start when I go to ride home.
    Any thoughts?

    Who's got heated gear?

Wiring for a jacket is a piece of cake. I have the Gerbing's jacket liner too and would definitely recommend it over vests.. (heated sleeves + neck on the jacket)

Get heated grips too.. the Dual-Stars kit is only $29. Harder to install then the heated jacket hookup, but still not all that hard.

    Dual Stars

Make sure you are not doing anything stupid like riding around in jeans though.. obviously that will negate any heated gear you wear.. you have to wear clothes that keep the heat in.

    Who's got heated gear?

The gerb rocks. Ive got the liner took about 5 minutes to rig up.

Id skip out on the grips for starting off and go with a nice pair of winter/cold temp gloves. I have a pair of the revit's and they are great.

    Who's got heated gear?

Gerbings kept me toasty on the way back from VT last night. I have heated grips too, Gerbings makes more of a difference (obviously).

Get the TempTroller while you are at it or things get too hot REAL quick.

    Who's got heated gear?

    heated grips rock

they forgive you when you don't wear warm enuf gloves

they are always there, even in heat of summer when the night might get nippy

there are there when it rains, rather than having cold wet hands, you can have warm wet hands

I have used mine almost year round

    Who's got heated gear?

    Cool...
    Thanks for the responses.
Just ordered the grip heaters from DualStars... I like the idea of always having them available regardless of the gloves I'm wearing, and I'd rather not have to shelve my Helds when it gets cool.

I had been leaning towards the Gerbings... looks like I'm just gonna do it. My ride in was much shorter last winter, so it wasn't so bad. Now it's about 28 miles, which is just outside of the range of acceptable suffering.

    Who's got heated gear?

I'm selling my Gerbing gear (Heated Jacket, Pants, and socks)

(I don't have a street bike anymore, or I'd keep it... they are AWESOME!)

    Email me direct if interested.

I sent out the details in a mass email to track day riders, but can't find it right now. If I remember, it was like saving $150 or $200 off of new... and my stuff looks like new!

    Who's got heated gear?

I used to ride all year when I lived close to Boston. Gerbings is the way to go it's got heat all the way up round your neck and your core. Wear a balaclava and some good weatherproof pants your gerbings and a nice windproof water proof jacket and you'll be mint. oh yeah spend the 69 bucks or whatever it is and get the thermostat.

I have the dual stars on my street bike and my dirt bike for ice racing in the winter. High is tooooooo hot most of the time. Low is just right. Follow the directions, use HIGH temp epoxy and plenty of it, then saftey wire your grips and they won't slip.

Enjoy, let us know if you have any install tips.

    Who's got heated gear?

With my Gerbings jacket and pants and socks... you'd be very comfy.

Add gloves or grip warmers and laugh at the temps!

If anyone is interested in checking out the sizes and stuff, I can bring them to track day?

    Who's got heated gear?

    I forget the coding.

They would be good for someone 5'6 to 5'10.

Waist anywhere from 33 to 40 (it's a stretch band with velcro adjustments)
