$8500 and needs nothing but tires... so over pay, then buy tires on top of that...
I asked him the difference between the R and non R and why he painted the bike ...
I followed up with one more. The difference between the 675 and 675R are race specific. The R comes with a full Ohlins suspension system, and stainless steel cables. The newer ones have Brembo brakes and a quick shifter, this one however was not lucky enough to get that update in 08. Basically the 675R is the more track appealing bike because of the pre-mods. The Ohlins system is one of the best you can get and is fully adjustable from front to rear.
As for the paint scheme, I didn't do it. The previous owner had it replicated from Garry Mccoys race bike, a motogp rider notorious for his insane maneuvers and power slides. The wording on it are his "sponsors" his bike obviously a little different very closely resembles this one!

Sounds like the guy fell for a load of shit when he bought the bike from the original owner. If he is sincere I feel kinda bad for him. Someone pointed him to this thread.. so good luck Jared.
so if this kid fell for a load of crap when he bought it, chances are he overpaid as well, hence the high price tag.

You can be the juryHonestly I'm a little annoyed that you took the time to waste mine, however I will admit that you enlightened me a little. I bought the bike last year from a guy for much less than what I'm asking... Obviously.
Frame is certified straight, and it's never been down. When I bought it I never took the time to check eBay such as you did, if that was the case I wouldn't have played along with his bullshit. With that being said, you're right, Triumph did not manufacture the R until the later years, however the difference between the 2011R and 2008 is not that significant, the main upgrade being the suspension and a quick shifter.
No one says you have to buy it! After all the blue and white is a great color scheme. From a profiting standpoint I'm sure you understand, I don't expect everyone to look into the values past and present, as well as what's available on eBay.
But again I'll admit you enlightened me a little. I was tricked two years ago!
I bet he didnt pay much less than he is asking, and is embarrassed to have been taken advantage of. I dont fault him for that kind of CL ad.
so he bought the bike last year for much less (which was probably KBB) and now he thinks he can sell it for more after it fell off the stand in his garage and his buddy hit it with a tire rack? not to mention all the stuff that he claims is on the bike that isnt there like the ohlins and the custom paint job.
that bodywork most likely ended up on there because the PO crashed it.
ive got a 88 f150 raptor. i mean, i know they didnt make a raptor in 88, however the difference between the two is not that significant. $30k. firm.

Bike has never been down but he took the time to have the frame measured? Interesting.

Reservoir doesnt necessarily mean Ohlins
I thought so too. But they didn't make the R until 2011. It was the next model year, couple more HP, couple less pounds, quick shifter, Ohlins rear, Ohlins forks, Brembo Brakes, different paint scheme. Even if you did all those things to a non R, its still not officially an R.
I just meant that the claim of it having Ohlins shocks becomes slightly more accurate if it does actually have Ohlins somewhere on it. The claim that it is an R considering all the differences (I looked them up before making that post) is dirty.

A buyer that is educated can defend himself against fraud. That does not make it OK to commit fraud and blame the victim if he didn't check for the truth hard enough. But thanks for the warning to any of us who might ever be tempted to do any business with you.

The difference here is the seller doesn't know what he actually has. While it would make sense to be educated about what you're selling, not everyone is.
