Lying and ripping off are two completely separate things. Yes, one can lie in an attempt to rip someone off but they are not the same thing.
I am not debating the ethics involved with lying nor am debating the ethics of ripping people off...hell, I'm not even disagreeing with the ethics of it.
I am saying that lying can lead to someone being ripped off but lying on its own does not automatically equal ripping people off. There must be a transaction taking place at which point the rip off occurs.
No one has ever said "I was ripped off" after reading some bogus sale ad because the rip off hasn't taken place. Only the lying has taken place.

Most of us think the ad qualifies as a rip-off, so I assume we think its wrong to sell it that way. But if someone falls for it, and later discovers it wasn't an R as advertised, too-bad-so-sad?
