good question. will it hold air and will it rip the lugs out in the first high traction situation. i'd hate to get run over by that thing...

What grade bolts are you using? Too soft and they may fold over. My gut feeling is they are too long for a pure ice setup.

Just make sure to tuck your pant cuffs into your boots!

If there's a blizzard, I think you'll be all set with that. For ice, I'd let someone else burn in a track before hitting it with those monster spikes. More "edges" is better for ice.

You will probably want to line the tire with indoor/outdoor carpet so the bolt heads don't rip into the tube, and use enduro tubes (thicker). I think the bolts may be too long and will either fold over, or rip out of the tire - do you have fender washers inside the tire too? Let us know how it works out...

I vote for too long too.....with the bike straight up maybe they will be O.K, but once you lean it over and want to throw it into a turn it may not grab so well??

Bring a camera and take pics for us....may want to bring a couple band aids with you too.....just a suggestion!

nope, in order for it to work you have to do the whole tire, not half.
and the bolts are too short, go back to ACE and get longer ones.

The last time a tried to stud a tire like that I just used a shit load of sheet metel screws, worked out realy good for me. and I didn't have to worry about puncturing the tube.
