i think i might pick up a track sv...

looks like i might pick up a 2000 sv650 for next years track duty this weekend. from what i know, its all stock except for the front end...it has a ducati monster front with the dual 320mm brembos and usd forks (not sure on adjustablity). it has a dented-all-to-crap tank, and will need tires, brake pads, and im guessing a chain.

if i do pick it up, im planning on this for modest track setup:

    -safety wire
-suspension...penske or ohlins rear, front end gmd computrak
-sharkskinz or, prefrerrably used track bodywork+fairing stay
    -tach (no guages currently)
-rearsets, prob vortex since i happen to have one side already (thanks motofreak)
    -frame sliders (woodcraft)
-maybe pod filters/jetting (has devil pipe, not sure about full system)
-second generation cams? heard of this, but what does it require for motor work? anything other than just installation of the cams??

any other must-do mods/ cheap upgrades i should consider before i try to put this on the track next spring? chime in sv racers! thanks in advance!!

Buy one that's done and save yourself $2000

sharkskinz is the most expensive bodywork you can get

vortex rearsets are the shittiest you can get

I wouldn't bother with pod filters
I've got info on the cams if you ever need it.

Hellooooooooooooo! I believe Landrics Boston Moto has 1 for sale ready to go. Buy it and we will repair any bodywork damage and paint it for you for short money. We realize it's not the season to sell and we are willing to deal. We have other projects to finance!

If you want the cam mod done, we will do that for you for no labor charge.

I believe he wants to get one CHEAP and do work himself to learn while "saving money"

Tried to talk him into a Hawk but they cost more than SV's (In the long run)
