Josh, that is the place and there is some good elevation change. Talk to Kenn157 he lives right down the street from there. If he can't find out, I know two or three people in Salisbury that manage businesses they might now.

Heard back from MIK, they're interested in having us play. So, what I need to know is what style of event people would prefer. I'm thinking trackday style, we take over the place Sunday night (about our only option) from say, 6pm on, break ourselves into groups, and run as people want to. For those looking to race, we can do manual scoring, etc, and run as many as we want for the night. For those looking to putt putt, we'll have sessions for that, etc. Basically just mob the place and roll with it.
To do it that way is expensive. MIK normally charges $1000 an hour to take over like that. Obviously, we're not paying that much as we're not using their karts, gas, or transponders, etc. But we still need to cough up enough to cover what they'd take in on a similar night from regular karting.
The alternative is a set number of sessions for the night, typically it's been two 8 minute practices, then a 4 minute qualifier followed by an 8 minute main, for $45 a night. Depending on how you're riding, thats not a lot of track time after making the trek north to the track. We can do longer/more sessions, but that may cost more. Also, we don't have the place on lock down, so kart groups get interleaved between us, etc.
The third alternative is a different location, Victory Lanes in Westbrook, about 25 minutes north of MIK. I'm willing to bet they will be cheaper, but there's a reason... The track is a basic oval, with some jersey barriers in places to enforce the track borders. The 'infield' has two cut outs to allow people and karts through as they normally stage from there. We'd have to bring cones/tires/etc to layout a road course. We could accommodate bigger machines like XR80s and TTR125s, but it'd be a simpler track layout.
Thoughts?
I would rather have the track time but with in reasonable cost. Trackday style is fine with me. We all know that that will turn into some form of racing anyways.
If the other place is as big sq ft wise I have no problem making our own track. If it is more friendly to bigger bikes that could be good also to get some more people involved.

I was wandering if an x7 pocket bike would fit the bill for these events. I found this on craiges list. I don't know much about these bikes and I am looking for opinions. The guy wants $250.00. Is it worth it?

I cant see the x7 pic on my phone but im assuming its one of those super pocket bikes. if it is....stay away. not worth the hassle. a true pocket bike weighs about 30lbs and you can carry under your arm

I think I need to get another pit bike.

The X7 and their ilk are small enough, but the turning radius on many won't cut it at MIK.
That said, right now MIK isn't going to happen, I don't have enough time to organize it, and my bike is still torn down awaiting a head rebuild so I can't test out the alternate venue either.

Will they let me run my go ped there?

Is there anything I can do to help make MIK happen ?
Kurlon
I see someone has posted a league starting at MIK. Is this the group you usually ride with?
Not sure who organized it, but given the completely unenforceable rule structure I have a pretty good guess. : ) Given that the rules make sure to stop just short of including my prior motor setup, I actually would put money on my guess now.
Should be good racing if they're back in the game, I'll see what I can find out.
The motor size is my concern also since I am a 160. I shot an email to them to see what they have to say.
Just run it. There will be 'cheaters' there I guarantee. : ) They are more interested in just getting riders than turning people away.
where are the requirements listed?

MX #505
Horizontal air cooled single cylinder four stroke. Two classes:
1) 'Stock' up to 110cc, bars, tires and gearing the only legal mods
2) 'Modified' up to 150cc, no restrictions other than basic engine design
So if you've got an 88 kit, you're in the modified class. Stock KLX ala Richie, you're in the stock class.
Riders need full coverage gear, no exposed skin. Boots, gloves, helmets mandatory.
