    Angry Winter prep

Putting the FZR to sleep for the winter. Drained the coolant, filled with Distilled water and Distilled white vinegar to clean the cooling system. Ran bike till hot let it cool and drained and flushed with clean distilled water. While I stepped into the house to get the "Engine Ice" for the bike, my 8 year old decided he was going to see how high he could throw a golf ball that he had found. I get back out side with the new coolant and my 5 year old says "Brandon hit your bike". Then he proceeds to pick up the golf ball and show me it. I look at the bike to find a dent on the edge of the fuel tank. Now this little ding has me so wound up that I'm starting to look for a replacement tank for the bike. New replacement is just over $650 for it, time to search the wonders of Ebay.

There are just certain thing that you don’t mess with when it comes to me and that’s my wife, kids and my bike. So what the hell do I do when it is one of those things that do something to one of the others?

If it were my wife I would just take her ZX10-R.

    End of rant

Sounds like your 8 year old needs to do some chores that he normally doesn't have to do (mow lawn, rake leaves, wash dishes, etc) to pay-off the cost of the damage...

Also, be happy that it wasn't a Ducati superbike if you are still looking to replace the tank. When I dumped my 996, I was quoted just over $2,000 for a replacement tank from Italy (Don't drop your bike Elliott or John.)

How big is the dent anyways? any pics? You probably won't even notice the dent after a while. My nephew rode his bicycle into my Monster and put an ugly scuff on the lower left side of the tank, and I'm already over it. Kids will be kids. Hell, I must have put at least a few dozen dents/scratches on my parents' cars during my childhood. I think we've all done it. Don't get too bent with the kid.

I second that. The lock him in the basement for three days with no food or water so that he understands the severity of the situation.

Can the dent be pulled? I have called dent wizard to pull small dents out of my cars and they do a good job. I am wondering if they could do it on your tank? It may be worth a phone call
