    Question Women's Gloves

So I froze my hands off coming into work this morning. Time for me to get warmer gloves...I'm sick and tired of freezing in the colder weather. Anyone know of any place that sells warmer women's gloves that are IN STOCK? I'd hate to order online only to find out they don't fit..send them back...still freeze my hands off. Any suggestions?? I need to get a pair ASAP.

i'm not sure how good of a fit your gloves are, but i think i might try wearing some isotoners or a similar slim fit glove under my riding gloves.

    Women's Gloves

I wear an XS glove, so I can't really fit too much of anything underneath the ones I have now. That's the problem. I have really small hands, so I need to try them on. I just don't know what places actually have somewhat of a selection of women's gloves. I usually wait until the Motorcycle show in NYC for gear, but I've been wearing these gloves for a few year's now and having cold hands is getting really old.

    Go electric, baby!!

Takes 2 seconds to hook up to your bike. You can start with just the gloves, but my guess is you'll add items as time goes on.

We now have the full suits (socks, pants, jackets, and gloves).

They are great this time of year... use them at the beginning and the end of ride when temps are down.

    Gerbings

Does this mean I'd end up buying a Gold Wing too?

Thanks for the heads up on this idea though.

I started wearing heated gloves when I was racing.

For the first race of the year... and sometimes even the second... we could have some cold temps.

I can remember at least one cold and damp race where I'm confident the gloves gave me a big advantage.

Point is... heated gear not just for GoldWingers...

In fact, the GW has decent wind protection... the heated gear is best for those that have minimal wind protection but still like to ride when it's sunny yet chilly.

heated grips have the benefit of not affecting your gloves.

they have the downside of only working down to a certain temp as they do nothing to prevent the cold wind on the outside of your hand.

I have to recommend heated grips, flip the switch and the heat comes on, nice even in mid summer if you get caught in rain, gloves may get soaked but at least your hands stay warm.

grips though don't cut it once the temps get down to 15° or less, then you need to suppliment with heated gloves, or another trick, disposable hand warmers stuffed in your gloves, they last all day, for $1ea, you can buy a lot of disposable warmers for the price of a pair of heated gloves

if you go the heated clothing route, go to Venco Wings in Loudon on rt129, they have everything (gerbings) in stock, and best prices

I would go with heated grips.. generally you seem to need a heated jacket to plug the grips into. The jacket is like $200-300 for everything you need depending on which one you have. Then you might be looking at $250 more for the heated gloves. Now you only have one pair of gloves which are heated, and they may require you to be wearing your heated jacket, and they are probably bulky and don't offer great control feel.

Compare that with many heated grip kits which are somewhere between $30-100, work with all your gloves, and can't be lost or anything like that.

My heated grips pretty much go on anytime it rains even in the middle of the summer, they're a really excellent mod.

I like the dual stars kit.. it's like $35 and fits any bike.

Funny I was going to say exactly what Randy said.. get down to the teens and you start to have trouble even with heated grips.. but that is a rare occasion to get caught out in weather like that.

oh ya, stay away from snowmobile gloves, they are designed for thumb throttle and bulky in the palms, they tend to make your hands cramp quickly

The heated grip idea is appealing, however, as Tony mentioned, wouldn't the wind still affect the top side of your hands and keep them cold?

I was actually talking about this tonight. This, combined with heated grips, sounds like an idea worth looking into.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone!!

    Women's Gloves

mine are from a KLR, besides the handguards I had to buy the standoff pivot bolts for the brake & clutch lever, had to so some minor dremel tool modifications to make them fit around the brake fluid reservoir and clutch cable adjuster

might want to look at handguards from a v-strom too, they would fit my SV with no modifications, but the v-strom wasn't in production when I installed mine
