Woodcraft, who's got the best deals?

Looking for a set of new Woodcraft sliders for the R6 to match the new skins. Who on the web has the best deals, or are they pretty much standard pricing?

Re: Woodcraft, who's got the best deals?

I've found that everyone seems to be the same price. It's the shipping that sucks. Call around and see if local shops have them. This way you save in shipping. If not... Look for a place that offers free shipping. I ordered stuff from sportbiketrackgear.com and they offer free shipping on orders over $100.

I ordered my sliders with other things to get me over the minimum.

    Just a thought.

Good point. If you're in Medford, go to Duncanmoto in Watertown. Ted's a member here.

I believe that authorized dealers are allowed only 10% below MSRP on Woodcraft parts.

They cost like $60 and around $5 to ship.

Are you the kind of person that will drive 19 miles away to get gas for $0.03 less per gallon?

If I can get them locally, just to avoid waiting, I'd prefer that over shipping.

That's just the bases. I'll swing by Ted's place on Monday. Trying to wrap up the install on my fairings so I can get them painted.

Re: Woodcraft, who's got the best deals?

I realize this was directed for an R6 but have to tell of my experiences with woodcraft sliders for a sv. Believe me I'm not a fast racer but have continued to try after crash testing cyclecats on a duc 749 and the woodcrafts on the sv the woodcrafts don't hold up. I contacted Eric a couple of years ago about a right side slide in turn 3 and he responded that gee it shouldn't do that but gladly charged full for replacement parts. I just removed engine for some new internals but was stymied by a bent bolt and stripped head mount from a slow lowside on the left side, anyway looks like I'll have to try the sliders recomended by Spears that go all the way thru the engine like the ones that sucessfully protected my 749 which after many crashes is going back on the road.

Re: Woodcraft, who's got the best deals?

Cheapest I found on the internet was $69 for the base and puck, but Miles at Street and Comp gave them to me for cheaper. If Duncan doesn't have them, maybe give Street and Comp a call. I think he ships free or he could give you them at the next track day event if you don't need them over the winter.

Im amazed at the number of cheap pricks spending all this time to save $5 - $10 when they're better off buying from the manufacture directly. I have made warranty/repair claims on my warmers and everything went quicker because my purchase was made through them, instead of some other vendor that sell their products a few bucks cheaper.

Some people have to watch their money and if a little change is saved here and there....so be it.

I know millionaires that still shop for the cheapest gas in town.

BTW, yes i do. i'm not talking about Ted's shop. i mean the people that search high and low on the interwebz for the cheapest deal on a set of $60 sliders that they can order from Woodcraft, or pick up from Ted directly. it just grinds my gears.
