    Worth it?

    http://www.gravesport.com/Graves-Mot...bike-2010.html

Even if I had the money for one of these, it just doesn't seem worth it... the 22k gets you a R6 w/built motor, exhaust, YEC ecu, a steering damper, and clip-ons/rearsets... Ohlins suspension costs an extra 4k.

Obviously it's cheaper to buy all that stuff yourself and then have the motor built... Thoughts?

Plus you get support at events that Graves is going to be at.

Matter of opinion but in my opinion, no.

Give me $18k and I'll build you a better bike.

I haven't seen any Graves support at Loudon lately... I guess it would be good for someone doing ama stuff, but the cost for that support is still more money...

So lets say we already have the bike... 4k to build it up to better than Graves spec?

I don't know how much they're going for... lets say 11-12k, so that would leave 6-7 thousand. I guess that's enough for all the parts, suspension, and motor. That's my point... why would anyone buy one of these unless they are just lazy or really wanted Graves' support? I've seen leftover ama spec bikes for around 10k...

    Suspension would be another $3k.

Basically, for $6k you can have a kickass SS motor, built to produce power and last with exhaust system and power commander goodies. There's no need for the graves ECU.

...and there is no need to go new either. If you were to start with a crashed R6 with salvage or no title, even with frame measurement and/or repair factored in, you can build just as good a bike as that for around $12k, INCLUDING the suspension.

    Re: Worth it?

I'd find it hard to believe that you could buy a new 2012 R6 with a clear title and build it to spec for under $22k
