Yeah... as Paul mentioned... on some of these newer tracks, the asphalt has such sharp edges and great grip... that you can run at higher PSI. Our suggestion is to use the Pirelli recommended numbers I posted first... then adjust according to your tire and grip and tire wear.

We should cut up a used tire, compared to a new.... it's amazing how thin the rubber gets when you get past the wear bars. In addition to the temperature issue, the remaining rubber is just so thin that it doesn't "act" correctly either.
Race rubber is already incredibly thin, even when new.
Cut open a uses sport touring rubber too.
I wonder if the marketing departments already make something like that? Like those display things you see in doctor's offices?

Who's giving up a new tire to cut 🤣

Kurtz - nice explanation on heat cycling. We still get those questions, too. It truly is a non-factor now with modern compounds. What kills a race tire is racing. Nothing more.
With Michelin, we have run the EVO DOT's to almost bald with no considerable drop in laptime. Again - it goes back to the chemical make-up. When the compound has stopped working, the tire is done. and the laptimes show it.
Now - if only people would stop with DOT dates....

OK
i was able to get rid of the F3 and got a 2016 gsx-r750.. it has BT-016 on it factory.. but i think i should just take them off and go pirelli ..
im gonna be on street and track but prefer track and hopefully spend more time there . in the near future i may just go all trackday..
that said, can i get away with the Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa SC V2 ??
You might be able to, but I'd go with the Rosso Corsa. Really is a great tire for both. About to throw a set on the zx in the next few days.

I'd like to go SC V2 if they would warm up on the street after some normal riding and would be safe

If your bias(not just percentage done, but desire to be applicable to) is towards track, the Supercorsa will be fine. You'll find most of Tony's staff runs them, with no warmers, at trackdays. I've got them on my street bike. While some common sense is required to let them warm up if you're gonna ride hard on the street...that's true even of dedicated street tires.

Ah, you want the option to ride street. I've no idea how the supercorsa behaves as a street tire. But the street tire is probably equally good on the track. I'm thinking out loud here. Trying to figure out christians reasoning.

All that said, they will wear out faster on the road than Rosso Corsas would. Meaning you can't expect to get thousands and thousands of highway miles out of the center of the tread, like any road tire will give you.
