Sport rider beats up on them pretty bad in their comparo tests. 600s and 1000s. The only bitch I ever hear is the earlier 2000 model r1 the second gear shits the bed around 12-13k miles. Oh and the newer r1s the helmet hanger leaves it hangin on the exhaust. A guy I ride with had the helmet hangin because he was goin to pick up his girlfriend. When he got there the helmet was all fucked up. I dont know if its the hanger or he was a dumbass and had it hangin on there wrong.

All The big 4 Are the same, 1 is not any better then the other. Just diffrent I have absolutely No brand Loyalty. I own 2 suzukis and A Yamaha. Never owned a Kawi And I really like Hondas.

well most people jump to an R1 for the power. There was a body style change in 02-03 that i like the LED tail section better than the R6. but it seems like most people start with an R1.

Trying to not be biased, owning a GSX-R, it seems the Yami's are overpriced for what they're worth. I would take a Honda or Suzuki over a Yamaha any day. Not to mention their newer gen bikes have the exploding tank issues that almost make the owners drop $130 on ugly tank sliders. An engineering flaw that should have been addressed with a recall, instead of a huge aftermarket profit.

I got a good price on both of mine, that's why I've owned 2 of them. I like my R6 but I think that I would have been just as happy on any of the other 3 brands
