I was wondering why you went all the way to the Cape to buy a map....until I realized I had the wrong state, and you need to visit that globe a couple times a year to say hi:

on Saturday I rode 175 miles each way to Rhode Island to have a burnt hamburger, met with a half dozen other IBA members, I was the one that came the shortest distance

    why?

cause thats what we (long distance riders) do

anyway, I'm thinking of taking a 2½ day weekend to Arkansas and
    back

    whose in?

not on the tires that are on my bike right now, I've been thinking that one more ride and cords will be showing for over a month now, the rear is flat in the center with maybe 3 or 4/32s knob height left but now the Karoos seem to be wearing like iron

I have a set of brand new conti Trail Attacks setting here waitin to go on

my house to Little Rock is 1528 miles...... perfect for a IBA Bunburner Grand, 1500miles in 24 hours

maybe a back to back BBGrand 3000 miles in 48 hours

Mick? have you ever done any documented IBA rides or do you believe that wall plaques and associated certificates are for wankers or just do the rides for yourself

Arkansas, my second home since last April. Some really nice riding roads in the Ozarks, especially route 62 from Rogers to Eureka Springs.

A car buddy of mine did the same thing. He'd pour over Atlases and online maps all the time. He always knew the nastiest roads

that looks like a pretty well traveled road, my Delorme is pointing me toward a run from Western Grove top Hagarville on Route 123

62 is definitely well-traveled. I also did some less traveled roads around Beaver Lake (62 east, 23 south, 12 & 127 west).

Too bad I was in a cage. There were some nice twisties on 127.

Hey Randy I did the saddlesore 1000 a couple of times but got bored doing paperwork and couldn't be arsed to keep track of shit, too much like work.
I just ride till I want to stop and off I go again.
I like LDR and being in motion for extended periods of time doesn't bother me at all , in fact I hate stopping and doing the tourist thing as I would rather keep going.
I did 2200 miles non stop a couple of years ago , couple of short hour long breaks and off again.
I listen to my body , if I'm really tired I'll stop if not I'll keep going.

    I just ride.

I thought I had remembered you saying that once.... I've only done 1 documented SS & BB, hardest part was the paperwork

I pretty much ride like you, on the other hand, I do get some satisfaction from getting the certificate, but not for repeat rides
