From Zero to Hero? Trailer Repair

    Hello guys!!

So I even put this up for sale. After some thought, I decided to fix it up, so I ripped the old plywood and punctured aluminum panel. Ended up picking up some industrial quality panels ( 90 bucks a sheet plus labor to bend the corner sheets and cut everything to size). Anyway, tomorrow I am going to paint this bad boy.

Also thought about getting some 1 inch plywood to convert the barn door into a ramp one, but I think that the angle may bee too steep for the door on this little 5x8. What do you think?

Also, how to I paint this little guy? Spray can it with rustoleon? Get a cheapo electric spray gun and some rustoleon?

I am thinking about red or orange. Too flashy?

Today after installing the new panels

I think that the barn door is 57 inch high. You guys think that it may be too short to convert into a ramp door? I am told that 1 inch plywood may be sufficient to hold the weight of a bike. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I wouldn't bother converting it to permanent ramp door. What you could do is modify the barn door hinge pins so the door can be lifted out of the hinge and then used as a standalone ramp. You will likely need to beef up the structure of the door and put thicker ply on it. But easier will be to just buy or build short ramp and fabricobble a way to store it under the trailer.

Paint: scrape of scaly rust, hit frame & fenders w/ POR, enamel paint on the fenders & frame. For the sheet metal: just rattle can it.

Paint the fenders and wheels black. Hell, mask it off and add a stripe of black to the body, it'll look titties.
