Genuine scooters are very well made.

Ive owned all and the Grom is better hands down........ Zuma over a Ruck any day. Clutch takes a bit of time to drop the weight and zoom off so it can be a bit tricky on a busy road... Grom is chain driven and a clutch rips right off. Zuma stock is hard to keep up with traffic and can be a bit scary.. mine was done up and still wouldnt keep up with my Grom....
The only thing is zuma can be had for 1500 or less... Grom used is at 2-2500 for a cheap one but can be modded beyond any bike out there

i was looking at the grom at first as well as older ct70s...but like you said i haven't see a used grom under $2500...they look fun as hell...but i am opting for a 100+cc automatic scooter cause i have every intention of squidding it up with my shorts and sandals (no shoes no shift) plus there looks to be more rear racks on scooters for extra storage

Kawi z125 non pro doesn't have a clutch. Probably even more expensive than a Grom though.

i saw that one...looks clean but i'm looking 100cc+ now...i like the old school step through rounded front styling of the vino 125 but i like the fuel injection, aftermarket parts and tires of of the zuma 125...going to come down to price, location, top speed, agility, maintenance, aftermarket availability, some space for cargo and small form factor
there are some nice ones on facebook marketplace as well

Bah, a 50cc thumper of a scooter is a speed bump. I wouldn’t feel safe recommending that to anybody riding beyond their corner store, and even that could be a stretch.

Tony, didn’t someone bring a Burgman to one of your non-sportbike track days? Kudos to him!
Im sure my Grom would beat a 250-300 at NHMS...LOL
