The stock ZX4-RR is restricted to mid 50's bhp in the USA. The power peak is really soft and the fueling is neutered after 11.5k rpm. It will rev to nearly 15k but nothing is happening after 11.5k on USA bikes. It feels like a long over-rev built into the bike. An ECU flash is required! I don't feel the uniqueness of the bike was worth the outlay of nearly $10k to get one out the door. Maybe it's my 2022 XSR900 for the -same money- that I own. That bike is EXCITING!
I think I was hoping for something a little more unique. The bike looks exactly like a ZX6-R. It's really hard to tell the difference in a quick glance. Also its cheap money to get a ZX6-R right now. They are available. The real draw was the 4-RR 15k redline. That with a aftermarket pipe and a tune will sound like a turbine howling away. Worth the squeeze? Yes. But to me right now I am spoiled by other bikes. Will it become another FZ400 legend? Time will tell. It does feel light and small. FAST after a flash and a pipe might be what I would have held onto and purchased.
Dyno charts tell the story.
