    3-4 hour ride west from Marlborough

    I'm meeting up with three business associates in Marlborough Sunday AM (two visiting the area). I'd like to take them on a nice ride that's a 3-4 hour loop.

    Looks like we could go around the Clinton reservoir, maybe even around the Quabbin, but it's hard to tell what roads to take. Any suggestions from those of you with local knowledge?

    Well from Clinton take RT 122 West to 32w to Rt. 202 south to RT9 W. to rt 116W to Bubs BBQ then continue to 47N ( Or Back the way you come in) (if you go back on rt 9 you can excess the Quabbin reservoir In Belchertown for some great views.... or take a longer ride) it merges onto 10 north I think? to Winchester Nh. take to RT 119 E to 13 S this brings you back to Clinton and crosses Rt 2.. that should take you about 3 1/2 to 4 hours road condition's vary from great to poor but its a nice ride.

    Up 123 to Hancock and take them to Fiddleheads for lunch/breakfast.
    The loop around Quabin is nice, you can pop up into the state park and the views of the reservoir are great, probably see a bald eagle. Becareful on 202, revenue road.

    For many of the route choices you may find yourself near Mt Wachusett, and summiting for the ride and view is a quick cheap minor thrill (Mtn Rd between 140 and 62 in Princeton MA)

    ^This. In particular around New Salem area. I have been fortunate, but have seen many other revenue sources along side the road as I rode by

    495 -> 117E -> 1st R onto 85 S

    1st R onto Mill Rd (kinda woods windy)

    L onto Farm Rd

    L onto Berlin Rd

    Bear left to stay on Frye/Sawyer Hill road (fun!)

    L onto 62 E -> R onto Gates Pond Road (nice bend!... residential tho..careful)

    R onto River Road, follow to Rotary

    First right onto South St -> 62 W -> 70 W (long sweepers) -> L onto Cross Street (fun!)

    ...then you're at the 290/140 junction...dunno where to go from there

    Sounds great but that takes us quite a bit N from our start point on Route 20 in Marlborough. Going to plot it and see how it sorts out. We are aiming for a 4 hour ride.

    How is 140W to 62 to 122

    Two of the riders are visitors to the area and didn't bring rain gear. So, mission scrubbed. Thanks for the tips!
