    NED Tomorrow night?

I'm just putting it out there. Weather looks...iffy? Supposed to be nice tomorrow with a chance of showers in the evening.

Let's say I will take the bike to work, and if there's any interest in a little drag in the evening I might point my front wheel off towards epping come 5pm or so

    NED Tomorrow night?

I'm in the same boat. I really want to go, but I can't tomorrow night. I've also never drag raced before. How do I go about taking care of the following two tidbits? I really don't feel like permanently installing another kill switch on the bike so are there any products out there that modify the existing switch?

    • Kill switch and lanyard required on all motorcycles running 10.99 or quicker or 120 MPH or faster.
    • All motorcycles and snowmobiles must have a permanent style competition number plate attached to the right side of the vehicle.

I could always let off at the last second but what is the point of going to the strip if you don't go all out?

The permanent kill switch can be used. Some people would consider it pretty ghetto, but if you're going to get into something that requires it it's not that big of a deal. All you need to do is buy a lanyard (anywhere that sells jetskis will have them but even some bike shops will) put an eye screw (screw with a ring on the end of it instead of a normal screw head) into the kill switch. This way if you fall off the bike the bike shuts off.

I may be heading up, but not with the bike. We're trying to get a buddy of mine's Evo into the 11s, so if I go up I'll be tuning/racing that.

I think the number plate is new for this year, but I'm not sure if that is just for race or test and tune. I don't see why you would need it for test and tune though.

They require a number plate for test and tune too, or at least they did the last time I was up there a few weeks ago. They sell a number plate kit (complete with zip ties!) at NED for something like $2 or $4, though.

I'll be up there at some point, I need to practice my starts. Not this week though.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Hummm, yeah actually I kinda forgot about some evening commitments I had sorta kinda made too...

So there's interest in getting a group up for the 15th then? That'd give everyone a bit more notice and time to tool around with kill switches and such this weekend.
