Preparing to go,

weather... temps are holding for a nice day, the sun is hiding and the current Mt Washington forcast is 40% chance of snow

Just moved my V-strom down to the road, soon as I'm dressed, I'm off

I was on the road about an hour earlier than expected

I stuck with the major routes cause of frost heaves on the secondary roads. As I approaches Chocorua village, I saw and ominous MT Chocorua enveloped in a snow cloud, dog sledders were just getting started on Chocorua Lake as I passed

The left turn onto the Kanc put me frost heaves for the first segment to Passaconway , from Passaconway to Bear Notch Road, the road was smooth, after Bear Notch Road, snow started encroaching the edges of the road and the center line was not visible due to snow & ice

Road conditons were decent to the top, the last miles or so became 2 wheel tracks

Didn't stop at the pass for a pic, the sign is completely buried, a pic of a bike adjacent to a snowbank would look no different than any other snowbank

going down the Lincoln side was treacherous, normally the dusting of snow is on the Conway side, not this year, it was on the Lincoln side, I was limited to a bare roadway no more than a foot wide for several miles, almost all the way to Loon Mtn. I actually had to slow down to the posted speed limit

stopped at GK Pizza had a small one, then headed back south on 93 to Ashland, then Rt 3 & 11 back home, frost heaves were worse on the section of RT 11 from Ellicoia state park to 11a

good ride, about 200 miles for the day
