It seems like July is my time to get my butt moving with this thing the past few years.....July 13th. I have a commitment in the evening, so route will be kept relatively short - 3-4 hours at estimate, although they do always tend to take longer in real life.
the basics:
Date: As stated above, July 13th. I do understand this interferes with Kitt's party, but given the drastic difference in locale and different target groups, I think it will be OK.
Time: Stands up, gassed up by 9AM. Last year we waited for a confirmed joiner for a while, but it did push the day back a fair amount. That can't happen this year due to my commitment.
Where: Route being finalized. Leaving from Southern NH. We will head north from the NH/MA line (between Nashua and Jaffrey) for a couple hours. We may loop back down toward MA, depending on road quality in the areas I am looking into.
Who: If you have never been on a group ride, and want to see if it is for you, this is the one to test it out on. If you want to bring a passenger who isn't big into group rides, this is the one to go on. If you want a nice relaxed trip through some nice scenery on decent roads with no pressure (internal of course) to "keep up," this is your ride. All abilities welcome, more seasoned riders are more than welcome to help out with a newbie who may have questions. Most importantly, if you want to have fun, you are welcome.
PACE: Speed limit+10. Normal travel speeds. Again, this is a relaxed ride to give those who are not used to group ride dynamics a welcoming place to try it out.
GEAR: Full gear is expected. This includes, but is not limited to - HELMET, GLOVES, CLOSED TOED SHOES, LONG PANTS, JACKET. Armored gear is preferred, as are boots if you have them, but Jeans and sneakers are OK. Last year I wore my full leathers. Protect yourself. If you show up in shorts and flip flops with Oakleys for eye protection, I will ask you to kindly ride elsewhere.
Group is limited to 8 riders plus myself and a sweeper (sweep position open...if interested, please PM me first). Rain date of Sunday July 14th.
