Dowd's going to be there.
UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- John Dowd is "just" 41-years old and getting ready to take on the young guns of arenacross in the upcoming BooKoo U.S. Open of Arenacross event at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT coming February 9-11. Considering his age, it should be the farthest thing from his mind. Raised in Chicopee, MA, Dowd now calls Ludlow, MA home.
Pretty much retired from racing, Dowd continues to be still deeply involved in this sport by conducting motocross schools around New England and the like. Coming out of retirement for the BooKoo U.S. Open Of Arenacross his Coastline Motorsports Suzuki machine will be sponsored by Mototown, the indoor Motocross track, in Windsor, CT. "I'm planning on running in both Pro classes on that Friday and Saturday night (Feb. 9 and 10) of that weekend," revealed Dowd.
Dowd’s most recent national title came on November 18, 2006 at the Endurocross Championships held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This event was held indoors on a made-made track with water crossing, rocks, logs and dirt to bring an outdoor enduro indoors for a fan friendly atmosphere. With Dowd’s wide range of talent, he beat the 2005 Endurocross Champion, David Knight.
The U.S. Open of Arenacross will also be the final race in the coast-to-coast BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series which has over 3 million dollars in purse, point fund and posted contingency for the 10-city tour. The event at the Mohegan Sun Arena will feature a $110,000.00 purse with $50,000.00 going to the U.S. Open Champion making this the richest arenacross in history.

A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
Fuck that and fuck you Arenacross!!

Anyone go? I was there last night (Saturday) was fun stuff, didn't get out of the building until 1am after the Schmoozefest was over. Those things have so many Industry People at them you spend more time talking and working than you do watching the races.
Did get to see Billy Ainsworth almost level a photographer thou.
