I cheat. I record them using a GPS. Spying, some might say.

A GPS is seriously on my wish list for when I have discretionary funds again. Mine are all used up for a while.

So in case anyone was wondering, after passing the trooper at "the speed of plaid", I looked over at Hawk and waved that I was going to pull over. My nerves were still a little frayed from coming over the hill and then seeing Hawk at a practical standstill. I think I went from 130 mph to 50 mph in just a second or two but it was too late for the trooper who, I was told, was shaking his head. I had no idea what to expect. What do you want to guess he asked me?

"Do you know why I pulled you over?" Not very original. I'm envisioning being gang raped at county. He then tells me I passed on a double yellow. Hello? If I didn't pass Hawk on the left you'd still be pulling me out of his ass. To be truthful, at that point I was happy he wasn't arresting me. I gave him the "thanks officer" and rode on my merry way.

Next time I'll limit it to the speed of stripes.

There's a reason why we keep telling you to look as far ahead as you can you know. I just can't believe that with the rate that we came over the hill, with us all on the pipe and then shutting them down the only thing he saw was you.

The Speed Triple doesn't have GPS and I forgot the radar detector. But yes the GPS records the route.

I tried that on my old phone. It usually died halfway through the ride and the track got screwed up so I just stopped bothering with it.

Now that I have a better pHone and can charge it off the bike I should probably try it again.

Yeah. I have that problem too. My charger seems to have stopped working and I only got about 80% of the ride on Sunday. Some of Dave's secrets are safe.. at least until I learn to read road signs. The real drag is I had to slab home on 101 without tunes.

Just wanted to hop on here and say thank you to DucDave for leading such a great ride. I think I need to get a garmin just to read the route and do that again! Thanks to Kenn for showing me around, and thanks to the "fast" group that split off. So much fun.

It was good to meet some of you guys, and encouraging that you were all so friendly to someone all of you had never met before. Even if I was on a Cbr.

I had a blast on my first group ride. Hope to see some of you other folks around the area sometime! Feel free to PM me if you're in the seacoast area and want to go for a spin. (When this rain lets up, that is.)

Nobody minds what you ride (though, I might be jealous). There really is a great mish-mash of bikes from my little SV650, to Jason's Goldwing and just about everything in between and everyone has a good time.

There are a number of bikes on these rides that I would love to own (including some CBRs).
