    My Bike Climbed \Wachusett Mountain

I was just driving around and I found that you can actually drive to the summit of Wachusett mountain. It actually looks like it would be a cool stop along a ride route. There are picnic tables and grills scattered all over the mtn. Some people could bring supplies in the old backpacks (charcaol, drinks, food) and make for a nice break during the ride. The view is spectacular!

Calling Mt Wachusett a mountain is a gross exageration of the word. That being said the view is nice.

A few weeks ago there was a hillclimb at Mt. Acutney (vt) and they wouldn't let us little people on bikes anywhere near it. We then road over to Okemo and ran to the top. That was loads of fun, and for a flatlander, I thought the views and the steepness were pretty good. I don't ski so that was the first time up.

You definitely don't want follow the chair lifts path down the grass....very steep

I've been to the top of Wachusett a couple times. The road is not very smooth at all, narrow and very slow speed limit. Once you get to the top however it is a nice relaxing spot to take a break.
I know they charge a couple bucks on the weekend to ride up, but i think weekdays there is no charge.
