Thursday after-work ride.

Gonna head out for a bit Thursday afternoon, probably do Rt. 2 out towards N. Adams, possibly all the way into NY, and then do Rt. 8 up to Wilmington, VT, and then either a short jaunt up 100, or just back east on Rt. 9.

Will probably be pretty mild, I'll be on new tires, so just looking to scuff those in/heat em up a bit, and just get back out on the bike, since I havent really done much riding lately.

Leaving from Greenfield, MA at a time TBD if anyone else wants to come along.

hmm, might be able to make it, want to head east at all before heading north or west? I am starting vaca on Thursday and might have some time in the afternoon. Thoughts?

KB, I'm gonna likely be meeting a few guys from North Adams, MA, so I'm gonna try and be out of work a bit early. Would you mind meeting me in Keene for like 4? We can just take Rt. 9 over to Wilmington and then south on 100/112 to 2.

Shannon, I'll more than likely be heading west/north, so I probably wouldnt really be able to accomodate to meeting you south of here.

And Mike, about Saturday, I'd be up for something after like 10, go out for awhile in the afternoon till 4-5ish. Gonna be picking my g/f up about 6 at her place near Ware, MA, and then heading to theotherseans party to have a few dozen adult beverages.

Thanks! KB's out, too much travel time for too little riding.

It'll just be me and 2 other guys from North Adams, gonna make a few laps of Searsburg Mt, and I'll probably just make the ride down Rt. 9 to Brattleboro to make it a short afternoon.

Well, that was a wash. I was planning on meeting Silverdragon, and another guy from ODFU up on VT100 and do a loop around in that area. Was a little late out of work, so had to do a little boogeying to make it up there. Maybe 10 minutes before I was to the meet spot, some sort of large flying insect hit me in the neck. Not unusual, I carry on. About 1 minute before I hit the meet spot, I reach up to fool with my zipper, and the second my hand hits my chest, BAM, something bit/sting/ate part of my chest. Felt like a beesting. I boogey down and meet them, and check it out. A little red dot in the middle of my chest, and stinging like hell.

I rode rt. 8 in VT with them, got to the other side, and said I was gonna bail. The thing hurt like hell, and I've had some nasty reactions to bee stings previously, and since I had no idea what actually bit/stung me, wasnt gonna chance it.

Nice riding with you for 15 minutes Silverdragon.

I've got a nice spot about the diameter of a baseball on my chest now thats kind of itchy, and is bruised as all hell, but other than that, I'm still alive.
