    Boston Area Recommendations

I was wondering if anyone had any good ride suggestions that start in the Boston area. Nothing too crazy....maybe 3-6 hours total. If anyone wants to tag along....or in this case probably lead, let me know.

define 'boston area'. days like today i like to start at blue hills, ride through milton, then head to castle island. it's about an hour each way.

i also do back roads to the posing spot on newbury street. there's a ton of red lights & traffic, so it's not really much of a cruise.

I live in Medford, and work in Newton, so either of those are my normal starting points. I tried Blue Hills towards the end of last season, and that was pretty chill. I try to avoid city driving as much as possible cause I get stuck with enough of that during my commute, lol

F route 2 it's still a highway no matter how you cut it. Go out 119w to Ashby take 31 North then come back 101e to 122s to 119e, then 2a towards Ayer and take 111 maybe 117 from there. hit 110e in Harvard or Lancaster and ride 110 to 3a or 4 head back to burlington

Route 2 sucks unless it's the Mohawk Trail

Medfor Huh? Thats my neck of the woods. Hit up Fellsway ( a definite must) - best served up on a Sat/Sun morning when you can ride it like a track. After that you can hit 128 N to 1A into Beverly and grab 127 towards Gloucester. That turns into 127A and is a nice curvy oceanic ride.

When I lived in Medford I'd do South Border Rd and Fellsway RT28 up around Spot Pond. You can only do that for so long...

I'd do it a lot. I used to think it was my own little race track.

I do that route sometimes when I get out for a short ride. And I see staties there about 30 % of the time. But it is a pretty fun road, when there's no cops or wild birds on a road

I usually do a "dry" run 10-15 over, while still having fun and looking for 'em. Going back, I'd pick up a little more....
Last time I was there, sure enough was a statie sitting there...

I never had any issues. This is going back 10 + years ON my RF900 and Gixxa-R Slingshot

I lived in Medford for a long time. When the MDC police were around.

Yah, Ive given up on that road. Just too many places they hide, not worth it.

I also had back then a liberty radar detector. The receiver was mounted inside the fairing. The switch I had mounted on the top of the front fork bracket. I had to lead the way when I did hook up with buddies so I could have everyone slow when the radar went off.

I do that route all the time. Go south in the am and north by sheepsfold on the way home sometimes. Lately I was taking south border road but lots of 50 lately. Any of these routes are pretty good early in the am if you keep your eyes open.
