Re: Covered Bridges Ride - Oct. 15th!

    Thanks guys!

All...so, it was a bit of a strange day but for those of us who stayed, the trebuchet's were a great finish!

Between the fellow who held us up for 20 minutes and the poor guy who tested his 'vest', we were an hour later getting to Walts than I had told him! He was gracious however, and after a nice lunch if was great to see some of his latest projects!

Then, the clouds and threat of rain and I decided to pass on the more westerly bridges in favor of heading back east! Thanks to that couple at Fiddleheads, and the 'heads up' about the Trebuchet, we rounded up the day nicely!

Thanks to all the regulars! Great seeing you. And welcome to the newcomers. Hope you enjoyed the ride and comradarie.

And special thanks to Rob (Cheese) for filling in as Sweep for Samwise! Great job sir!

Post your pics if you got 'em!!!

Good ride in spite of the leaves and needles.

Glad the accident wasn't any worst. S#@* happens, so remember ATGATT.

First time seeing the trebuchet in action. If the videos I took are any good, I'll post them.

Good timing on the return: started to rain within 5 minutes of pulling into the garage.

Re: Covered Bridges Ride - Oct. 15th!

I had a 'mostly dirty' ride already planned with a buddy right here (SoVT and SW NH), (was tempted to do the 2hr ride over to Derry) but it turned out we were at the store right at 11a, figured you'd be there by noonish. By the time we ate, we both had to get going to make our other plans.

Least we could do was hang around and say Hellooo

Hope nothing to drastic with the 'vest test'.

The wife and I got a good dose of rain on our pumpkin festival ride that was my 'had to get home for' afternoon event.

PS, wife just read this and is interested in the castle. Anyone have directions or coord's for it?

Apparently the Klr didnt like the mobil 1 I put in it so it decided to mix it up with a whole bunch of engine coolant. Unfortunately, the klr was wrong. Warranty time!

At 100 miles a few of us get a combination of "low fuel" warnings and "high urine" alerts. See below ...

    Great ride Dave!

I knew after my ride to the meeting point at Seacoast that 2 days of wind and rain had greased up the roads with wet pine needles. Seemed like a good day to throttle it back and fill in for Sam as sweep. Watching from the back of the pack it seemed that everyone had the same respect for the road conditions. Not every ride has to be spirited and this one was a great example of how just getting out with NESR friends can be enjoyable too. Thanks to all that came out and again Dave for bringing us together.

It was my pleasure to take on Sam's usual duties and I'll keep this recommendation for alternate activities Sam is unable to perform.

Additional trebuchet photos. Castle is made of 1/4-inch boilerplate metal. Dave like the idea of not having to spray for termites any more, but found the toilet gave him nasty splinters!

Droid cellphone videos are OK, but recorded in profile-mode. Anyone know if they can be converted to landscape mode so viewers do not have to lie on there side to view?

Nice bumpig in to you two! The trebuchet is located between Greenfield and rt 101. Google 'Yankee Trebuchet' for more information. (Note - they are not launching on a regular schedule. We were lucky as they were testing two trebuchets in preparation for the competition in Delaware next month!
