Well it looks like I will be riding the Gap this year with a cast on my shifting foot.
I was at Ftrains house on friday night and tripped going out his front door and landed 2 steps down with all my 250lbs on a little old weak helpless ankle bone (tibula) and she gave out.
I have a walking cast on and it doesn't hurt too much. I am still going to the Gap and nothing is going to stop me from going. I guess I will see how it goes. I can balance on both feet no problem I just went out and tried. My CRF will be easiest to ride. I will have to try shifting a little later on.
I will keep you's updated.
I am also going out on short term disability for approx. 4 to 6 weeks. So I'll be getting a lot of riding in the next few weeks.

I can always pull up next to you and shift for you.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I'm going to buy one of the automatic Harley wanna be things.

I will be a gimp also, my sciatica is bothering me, I been hobbling around on crutches the past few days, riding is about the only thing that is comfortable

You and Randy are going to have to be carted around in wheel chairs like old ladies. Maybe you guys can have wheel chair races on the Dragon!
I hope you both are capable of riding somehow..

I think KB needs to order an airshifter asap! I do not think he will be able to get on the ball of his left foot but you know nothing will stop him and if it does, hide all your pain killers and alcohol, he will surely put a hurtin on them both.
Hey, I just so happen to have a complete air shifter kit for a bike, compressor and allOriginally posted by skiierx

I used to drag race at Epping and I had it on my 1998 R1. It's a air over electric system, push a button on the handlebar and it would upshift. It has a air plunger thing hooked to the shift linkage, air tank and compressor I had tucked in the trunk.
The stuff has been sitting in a box for a couple years now so I'd have to dig it all out and see if all the parts are still there. It only upshifts and kills the spark for a split second to make the shift, the thing was pretty slick and reliable. No idea what it's worth and what it would take to install on another bike, I had it installed on my bike and it was somewhere around $700 at the time for the parts and installation
Yamaha
WHOA 700 is a shitload.
Well just for an update as to the cast situation.
I converted the Hawk over to GP shift and will try that shit out and see how it is.
I went for a ride today and shifting was a bit tough but I can do it. So all I need to do now is to figure out what to cover my toes with so they stay clean and breath and not get too sweaty.
I got this cool shower bag so i will still be able to go swiming and shit during the day. I'm not sure about leather pants I am going to try em on tonight to see if they will fit over the cast somehow. If not fuck it.
This sucks but I will make the best of it. I am sure I will be able to keep up with you guys and shit.
KB
Letaher pant fit over the cast yahooooooo. I'll be dragging knees in a cast HHHHAAAAAAA!!!
KB
cut up an old athletic shoe, and duct tape it to your cast
that's what I did when I broke my thumb a few years back, I cut an old glove and duct taped it to my cast when I went riding
your gonna want something especially in the corner that has all the gravel, you'll be kicking that stuff up into your bare toes
