Mike and Bruce...does this time work for you guys? Its good for me!Originally posted by bbhzx10
How about 7:30/8:00 AM at the rest area??
That Ford should need fuel by then.
Big thanks to Nate (and Brent, and Lis) for getting Faster back to me in time to watch it on the ride down!!
Those times are fine with me.
Jamie, Which Motel is it you booked? Just making sure we know which exit to get off, also to be sure PEts are allowed. I don't want to have to leave Bruce in the truck all night. Actually maybe I do!
Also did you get a double with a cot or two rooms? I claim a bed to myself!

We are staying at the Econo Lodge at exit 3, its the same hotel as the last 2 years. I did not get a cot yet and there is a pet charge. I did not get a cot yet and I call a bed too! They said they had plenty of cots though on the 800 number.Originally posted by Half Squid

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I have a 1/2" ratchet in my kit, what size socket is it? I think mine goes up to 27 or 30mm?Originally posted by TheIglu
I need someone to bring a 1/2" rachet/socket set. My steering head bearings on the KLR are loose and I don't have time to take care of it before leaving.

That should be good enough. Looks like a 24 or 26. Thanks!Originally posted by R7

Damn, maybe I can get another cooler but I have to use 1 for the food. Oh boy! This is a good problem to have though
Mike, I believe my rims will be going down with Brian if I can get together with Jay later on and get them to Brien after that
Ftrain and I are leaving sometime after 12:00pm. So we may stop in Bristol we may not!!

I just got home. I have ice on about 6 cases. 2 are without. I had a red cooler about half the size of yours Jamie that I filled up and put ice on. It should be cold tonight too to help keep it cool. I think we will be okay. I also picked up blank video tapes and some other misc stuff at walmart. I will be at mikes between 7 and 730 for 730 departure.

Can we wash our bikes at this place?Packing up my stuff and looking at my wash bucket next to the leaf blower (bike drier) made me realize I can't go more than a day or 2 of riding without giving the bike a good cleaning

Yamaha
Yes you can wash it. They have a hose there.
Bruce

Clayton thanks for getting a ton of beer.
Only problem I have is finding room for it all, Some will have to be left in my fridge. & I am not kidding... We are going to be packed to the brim.. Maybe I should have bought a cap for the truck and not the Tannuea cover....
Well I am all packed up except for a few small items. Tomorrow hopefully goeas smoothly and we can go get some dinner and a fewwhen we are done. I'll be hungry by the time we finish.
Bruce bring your own tie downs, I already spoke with Jamie about bringing his. Your bike = your own tie downs, so if one breaks you can not be made at me!
Oh yeah if you have any real good movies we shouldn't live without on the ride pack it! I have one case of 48 CD's and one case of 20 DVD's, an MP3 player we can play through the stereo that has 480 songs. Bruce is bringing the XM tuner, so as for entertainment we got it covered!
I bought the New Tool, and the New Pearl Jam today, as well 2 movies - Two for the Money and Lord War.
I also bought a notebook to keep track of Gas, tolls, girls phone #'s Etc... This will be left on the dash board. We can also keep track of our travel time/Mileage.
I also have my Atlas as well as the local area maps printed from the Tail of the Dragon site. I am going to go through all my route plans and local maps to see what we may want for picking routes and such.. I think I forgot those my last trip.
You guys ready???? Wooohhooooooo!!!![]()

Mark came over tonight and we loaded up his MINT v-nose trailer. I want one.
I then did the following to my truck:
Changed oil + filter
Changed throttle position sensor
changed pcv valve
changed o2/air/fuel sensor
cleaned MAF
cleaned throttle body
washed out the air filter and re-oiled
She runs good now!
Packed up most of my riding gear tonight too. Got all my tools together and packed into the trailer before realizing i need them to work on my truck. So now they are back to where they usually are: spread all over the garage.
I still need:
get feeshin powl and tackle from the padooks house
get maps
clean out the truck
"wash" the truck
Fuel up bikes, gas cans and truck ($$$$, ouch)
pack small cooler with Chorizo sausage for makin chili
finish packin clothes (friday)
ATM dumb-run
Fill 4 Growlers with Monsta and IPA (also get cooler to keep them cold)
Wal-mart for more Mobile 1
What else am I forgetting.....

I bought a couple things at Walmart. I bought a Family Guy season 3 DVD set. Today I have to pack and go get the litttle trailer to bring my bike to the big trailer. I have to walk off this hangover......Its amazing how much you drink when your jeep has 9 cases of beer in it.....JK

Easiest way to take care of this is to figure out a rough amount that the trip is going to cost (estimated fuel mileage/cost and throw in a couple bucks on top for tolls), divide that number by the number of people in the vehicle and before you leave take an envelope and put everybodys contributions in the envelope. This envelope now becomes the trip ATM for trip related group expenses only. If there is extra at the end of the trip divide it up and give an equal amount back to each contributor. If there is not enough and more is necessary everybody throws in an equal amount and starts the process over again.Originally posted by Half Squid

This method has worked like a charm on many a road trip that I have taken with many different groups of people. It is still a good idea to keep the receipts together just for confirmation of actual expenses in case anyone starts to complain but overall this works well.
