Want to Drag Race Your Bike? New England Drag

Wondering if anyone else would be interested in going to new england dragway some saturday to drag race a bit. I have raced my car a bunch but would like to try the bike out..... Anyone insterested? I could try and setup a day....Ride up and hang out, do afew runs to see how it like...nothing serious just for fun!

I'm interested as I have unfinished business to tend to...been working on a 10 slip in total street trim...getting closer with an 11.12 @ 123....gonna try the power shifting next.

For "go-fast"--> Ivan's SO jet kit, Yoshimura Tri-Oval Ti slip on and I ported/matched the intake boots to each cylinder.



Bhavesh- NED's website has that info.

Basically you need over-the-ankle boots, leather jacket, leather gloves, Snell 95 (?) or better helmet. Jeans are acceptable but not a great way to pass tech easily. One of the guys who techs the bikes in is a wicked stickler for the rules.

If you run 10.99 or lower and/or 120 mph or faster it's all the above plus leather pants and a tether.

I would love to see what my bike will run. I know my ZX-11 will break 120mph and I don't have the required pants. If anyone going has about a 33 waist and a 30-32 inseam, I was hoping we could share.

Wow, leather pants and a tether.....I guess I better get both.. Im sure most bikes will do 120MPH or more in the 1/4......Even with me riding

Well here's the thing about the "rules", there seems to be gray area of sorts.

I've made a few visits on the bike to NED this year, logged about 25-ish runs and have been consistantly running faster than 120 mph (with a high of 126mph...not sure how I even did that one) and no one's banned me or even mentioned anything to me about leather and tether...now that I said that tho watch what happens...

I've figured as long as a rider skips the jeans, wears some kind of actual riding pants and doesn't look squirrely on each run they'd be all set. That's the recipe I've used so far.

Don't draw attention to yourself at tech-in and you should be all set.

Oh ya...and some advice for tech-in, if it's your first time up there and the tech asks what your trap times have been (and he will ask) DON'T tell him the best time you saw in your favorite moto-magazine because that's going to be a pretty good way to end your day right there (unless you're "legal")....just my .02

And in case anyone's wondering, it's $20 bucks to run for the night, at least on Friday's anyways...not sure about any other day.

So what's the deal for everyone this Friday? (I can't do this Saturday as I'm sweeping for the "big big long gigantic wicked pissah ass burner ride" on Sunday)

I've seen the extended bikes spin but I've been hooking up just fine without any burn outs.

I'm in for either next Fri or Sat.
