this past weekend, I rode to Vermont to visit my dad before he goes to Arizobna for the winter.
I didn't go hunting for any spectacular new routes, slabbed it to South Royalton, then Rt 107/Blackmer Blvd to Rt 100 to Rt 17/Huntington Rd/Hinesburg Hollow Rd/Rt 116/Richmond Rd.
it was saturday morning, so there was a fair amount of saturday traffic, even Rt 100 wasn't bad.
the Ride back on sunday was just a reverse of my trip up only difference it was raining..... realy raining, pouring buckets, cages pulling to the side. the ride was fun, as anyone who has ridden with me in the rain knows, it don't slow me down much. the Avon Distanzia's performed flawlessly, there was a lot of falllen leaves in the higher elevations of Rt 17, but I was able to pick fairly clean lines thru the corners, no hint of hydroplaning in deep puddles. smooth transitions across painted lines were not detectable....... although I detected noticable slippage once on an expansion joint on a bridge approach, but I was leaned over a bit. I got to tyry my tires out in the rain, had a fun ride and was able to maintain a 65-70mph pace on secondary routes and 75-80mph on the I-way, did I mention it was raining so hard that cages were pulling over due to poor visibility.... rain-x works good, I didn't have any fogging problems. but I did get WET, soaked, and the black dye in my gloves bleeds when wet.
