fuck the dragway tonight, its too damn hot to wear all that gear tonight.
i will get you guys another week. so now i am going to get on my fav bike and ride to work.

you know, i had a bit of a revelation last night while riding around... hanging my ass off the side really makes a difference in getting that thing leaned over. for some reason i have been real headstrong against doing it, convinced i could get her down if i just clinged to the tank and kept my arse planted. wtf was i thinking.
oh well, no more chicken strips.

dude, you don't have to hang off to get rid of the 'pussy strips'... i mean hanging off REDUCES the lean angle required for a given turn, not the other way around... if you want to lean it further over to get rid of those strips, either a) hang off on the outside side of the bike forcing larger than required lean angles, or b) don't be a pussy

Chris <-- still has some pussy strips, but decreasing every day

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

I've decided I like hanging off in a lot of situations now, even if I don't need too...

It just feels so much better if I have to go over bumps in the middle of the corner.

Oreo, that's cool if you don't want to go. It's supposed to feel like 105 in the middle of the day. Plus I got home so late last night that I didn't get up early to get in to work so I could leave early tonight.

well the hanging thing, i know it means you dont have to lean as far, but i feel a lot more comfy in the corner and tend to go faster and thus increase lean angle as opposed to when i just keep my arse planted.
kind of roudabout, but the increased comfort is helping me go quicker, indirectly helping me to get it over further.

OMG, i just took some on ramps and turns on the way to work, using my newfound comfort, and holy shit, what a difference in speed i can use in corner entry. kinda scary, but it feels so much more stable entering and through the turn.

I would have to agree with you there... hanging off in some turns (most ESPECIALLY on/off ramps) certainly does make things feel more comfy and increased comfort no doubt leads to faster/harder leaning turns... I haven't really gotten into hanging off too much since I am trying to reserve that skill for when i really want to go super fucking fast around a turn and i can't lean the bike enough from an upright position to do so... given that i still have 1/2" pussy strips on my tires, i'll wait until those are gone before i start to work on my hanging off

well... ok, i have tried hanging off a few times, but it was most certainly not when i really needed to... most offramps are ez peazy at 60 but it sure looks/feels neat when ya hang off

twray, since we both ride the same route (albeit in opposite directions) to work, we should get together some time and meet halfway after work and go for a ride!

Hey, getting your ass off the seat and your knee out can also be done if you are perfectly upright. It doesn't help you any, but it does make it look like you know what you are doing.

The following message contains a hidden subliminal message:

Go to the track this weekend
Go to the track this weekend
Go to the track this weekend
Go to the track this weekend

    ...end of subliminal message

we'll be at the track this weekend, but i am having trouble convincing christina to wear a bikin and be a cabana girl.

maybe just the racing polo will do for her.

I guess it depends on how you value your vacation time and your riding time.

Taking 2-3 days of vacation to go do corner work to save $175 doesn't seem like a good deal to me, especially if the free track day isn't a set-in-stone concept.

$175 seems really reasonable to me. I'll gladly postpone getting an aftermarket exhaust, neon lights, trick liter-bike, etc.. for the chance to go back. I don't know how many laps I got in, but somehow I imagine it came down to something like $3-4/lap, and then you tack on lunch too.
