I just got off the phone with these guys Vermont Shifter Karts
We are talking about doing some pitbike racing on their kart track.
It will be a run what you brung kinda format at first. Pit bikes CRF type 50, 70, 80, 100, 110, Thumpstars, YSR's: , pocketbikes, mopeds etc anything you got it just has to pass tech!
At a later date we can divide it into classes but I don't wanna overwhelm the organizers.
If you are interested post up here. I am thinking the first weekend would be August 23rd, Maybe Sept 7th. This will be an exhibition type thing with an actual series next year if we get enough interest. I'd like to see 6-10 regular participants to make it feasible.
Cost will $55 per racer for the day to cover insurance fees/ medical coverage and administrative stuff. (We can be flexible the first few events as to cost)
I am working out rules and maybe we can get some guys to come up from Pembroke and the Evil Empire racing crew to help make it spectacular.
Let me know what you guys think!

I can't find any pics that show the layout, google maps is a bust. That said, it's a 4 hour drive for me, dunno if I could make it.
Why no pocketbikes? I've run with them on the same track before, it's fun. : )
~164 miles for me. kind of a hike. if it were closer, i'd be in.

As for the pocketbikes... I fixed it, come one come all!
For those of you who think it is too far... I travel 3 hours to get to Loudon. Suck it up!
Oh and there is camping at the track!![]()

i might go once. its 2 hrs+ to get there for me. though the track looks way wider and faster than 106. 106 is 45min from home.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Ok I am heading down Saturday around 1pm to check it out and run around the track a bit.
If anyone has a bike they would like to try at the track this saturday let me know.
You can also come with me and try it with mine if you don't have a bike to see if you like it but you have to be about my size or smaller to fit in my spare leathers.

We hear ya on the travel, we drive 2.5hrs to operate the race series at 106 Racepark. Graniteville, VT is 3.5+.
The track layout looks great from the pictures. If you have more info or a flyer you can mail me, I'll get them out to our racers this weekend. Better yet come this Sunday and race with us at 106 Racepark. That way you tell us all how the track is and what the race deal will be. (folks will want to know cost, laps, practice time).
If you need anything from us either PM or email (our email is on the evilempireracing web site)
Thanks man! I'll get a flyer soon.
Cost would be about $55 per racer for the day to cover, insurance, medical coverage and admin stuff.
I believe it is 2 practices and maybe 2 heats. Only doing a run what you brung kinda format unless we get more than 10 people then we can start making different classes. (sound good?).
I would say more than 10 bikes on the track might not be good. How many do you run at one time? Biggest Grid? Smallest Grid?
We have to remember we are tagging onto a Karting track. They have first priority until we get a big group and can justify our own day.

As always classes are difficult and only make sense if you have enough folks to make things competative. One thing you can do is mix classes on the track at the same time if your sharing the track. That way you can have an Open class and Limited class and just recognize the winner in each. Only time thats bad is mixing Junior or Sportman type classes with the Unlimited folks. Not fun for anyone that way.
We are lucky at our races, we have the track dedicated to two wheel racing for the day. That way we have time to separate the classes and get an hour of practice in, plus 3 qualifier races and a Main Feature.
We've had 15+ bikes on track at once, I'd be ok with 20. We've refined the layout and have sufficient runoffs and safe areas. We also have EMT onsite so if we do Red Flag we can usually get started quickly.
Smallest we run is 3 - have a family of Juniors that show up, 3 brothers, we need some more under 15yr old riders to show up so they don't keep beating up on each other.
If I can run the 78 Honda 125, I'm in.
CR 125? A lil big... and this is for streetbike.![]()

Here is the update.
I like the course going counter clockwise better than clockwise. I think the 120 Thumpstar MAY be a lil too much bike for the track. I had some difficulty getting going but when I did I was knee down in a couple corners.
Pics.

I had a blast and it was quite the workout. The Karters seemed to get a Kick outta it as well.
Who wants to come out and play with me!?!

So come on up for the next one! Might be a little Haul from CT though.

just looked it up... it's estimated for the same time travel as my trip up to loudon. road trips are never a problem. take lots of pics, lots of videos & reviews. i know a few people here that would love this, too - i'll mention it to see if it will spark up some more interest.
the thumper lives!
did you do anything to it yet, doc?
