yeah, i know, but anything associated with bike week will be, besides tomorrow is the day that they are closing hte Mt. to anything except bikes so i will be going

I took tomorrow off and want to head up to NH but not Mt Washington. If you change your mind I can meet ya.

I am contacting KB and seeing what he is up to tomorrow. So I will be up there somewhere.

we can meet anywhere at anytime, do you want to meet before the mountain somewhere and then ride to the MT so we don;t get lost in the sea of oil and hogs? I'm not sure of a lot up there but if there is something easy to find i would prefer that. I also do not have your number but i will PM you mine. I will be checking this every 20-25 mins though until i get to or or

We went up Monday. Just found out today that the reason for all the POS Harleys Monday was because it was M/C's only Monday too. Total fuckin' PAIN IN THE ASS! Had to clutch the TL-R all the way up the hill behind those fuggin' guys...

great day of riding, we were up and down the mountain before the harleys even showed up and still had a chance to swing through and check out bike week.

Had a great time today! It's always nice meeting members of the forum (and their wives and friends). We have to get together for a real ride soon. For now, it is off to bed!

I am on the silver yzf, Keira is on the SV650s, 01yzf is on the black YZF with his wife (who later gets on her bike, the little red ninjette) and 01yzf's friend Dan is on the old Yamaha something or other...

SO HERE IT IS............

6-15-06 - 9 am:


Beauty and the Beast are ready to roll !



we head out to meet up with a few other riders locally and ride to the Base of Mt Washington. while the others head up the mountain, we stayed an extra minute or 2 with a co worker Dan, when Rob and Keira roll up.

as you can see we had no worries of the rain that was forecasted.....






in this pic you can see which color YZF is fastest.....



we head up the mountain taking several pit stops for photos....







after this point we were getting swallowed by some clouds moving in with the 45-55 mph wind gusts..... it was tough to keep the Cat balanced at some points. this was around 5000-6000 feet......

well as we hit the bike parking near the top, I went to shift into first, and realized I have NO SHIFT PEDAL, it is just hanging there ....... aghhh
!
I reached down and yanked on the shifter arm, get it into first and park the bike.

Rob comes over and asks what happened and I showed him ( wish there was a camera ready for that moment ! ) told the group to go on up to the top as I broke out the tool kit and began to piece it all together again....

thankfully all the pieces were there.... 10 minutes later I was on my way to the top...



so we made it to the top ! wooohooo..... it was really cloudy at first, which is why the pictures are so bleh......
here is me thanking the gods that we made it up without being test pilots on 2 wheels....



clouds start to move in real heavily now. making it almost a complete blur at some points




we headed inside to do some lurking, wife got a tank top, some gum and a bottle of tea..... $18.95 total

after about 30 minutes inside we see the weather break and head out to do some looking around....




so as we all get ready to leave, someone notices that i haev something hanging in the front of my bike......

so i take a look and WTF? HUH? NO F_ING WAY ! my speedo cable is now hanging there, the small wheel that attaches it to the wheel drive is cracked in 2 pieces and the speedo cable itself is hanging halfway on the grouond....

ARGHHHH ! so once again i break out the tool supplies and ziptie everything into place....of course no camera was ready to catch these bizarre moments becuase we were all geared up and ready to roll...




after we got back down the mountain ( which would have been quicker except for the lady on the harley jerk braking every 20 feet)

we decide to head down to Laconia to check out Bike week....

my camera had ran low on picture space so this is all i have....









all in all it was a great day ! logging in over 320 miles over 9 hours of seat time for a total of 13 hours start to finish....

was great to meet a few other riders, and would ride again for sure if they ever ventured this way again....

If ever you want to ride up this way, you are welcome to stay at our place! It makes for a long day doing it all at once.
