I'm in for some drag racing , do I need a permission slip signed ?
That might just be a really cool plan!

I don't know about a permission slip, I am pretty sure you need a valid license,, I don't think you can race on a learners permit but I could be wrong.

Yes, you need a valid MC license to take your bike on the track.
How far is the track from Jays? I think the gates open at 5 and racing starts at 6? Prolly wanna be there by 5:30. Wednesday is gonna be a busy day with the hillclimb and junkHmmm, wonder what kinda times i can squeek out of the R6?

I'm undecided if i'll take the 7 with me this year![]()
I know what it does (or what i can do on it) in the 1/4 mile, i made the mistake of taking it up there last year, certainly NOT a drag racing bike. My best time on that bike was a 12.01 @ 131 mph, near impossible to launch with the gearing it has

Did anyone read the rules? Looks like below 10.99 or over 120 mph requires an IHRA liscence, if I read that correct. I think that my bike can squeak that out - it would be fun to see if I can make it do it.
I guess this weekend I'll have to practice my launches on South Willow street.I now have a 1-down front spocket and new EFI tune loaded - yeah, baby... I'm thinking 2nd gear launches because anything over 1/2 throttle in first has the front end coming up.

what do sv's run ? I hear something like 12.5 or something , probably with my azz I run 13 or something , guess like I don't need a IHRA liscense![]()
Josh is right, the comp license is for 9.99 and better.
As for the tether switch, you could make a temporary one with a paper clip under the edge of the shutoff switch, and an elastic to go to your hand. Or, you could make one for a few bucks using a blade-style fuse holder tie-wrapped to the bar, wired in series with the shutoff switch, and a coiled stretchy keychain for the tether. If anyone gets the lanyard that has the red cap, make sure it's battery style (normally closed) instead of the ATV one that's normally open for magnetos.
SV, don't expect to beat 12.01 on the 650, sorry.
F4i, by 'too fast for wed' do you mean it has too much power to hook up when the morons drive through the water with treaded tires?
JC, didn't you just do a track day at Loudon in full leathers?
NHviffer, I saw a Daytona much like yours pull a 10.8@129 or something like that.
I agree the R6 would be a better choice than the R7 for a standing start. Those little screamers run pretty well.![]()
Im in weather permitting.
JC are u willing to make a group ride out of this up to track from haverhill if so let me know.
Kewl, it's sounding like we'll have a few people going then...
I think Todd is going up with his R1 as well if the weather holds.
should be a fun time![]()

Since it doesn't sound like I'm going to make it up to Stonnerstock (maybe next Saturday...) I'll come on up to this Wednesday night... not going to run though cause I haven't finished the break in on my new bike. I'll bring my camera or something.
Ben
Can't make it with the Daytona. My wife will be out that night for a class, so I will have the kiddos. Thinking of taking the cage and going to watch though. Probably better to do that 1st so that I would know what to expect if I take the bike to race in the upcoming weeks.

Nothing wrong with dragging in a duct-tape codpiece, bro.Originally posted by JCzx12
Yes, but that morning I broke the zipper on the pants and rode the whole day duct taped together. I'm going on Wednesday provided that the weather is ok...but I'll probably take a few easy runs and then one good one before they tell me to come back when I have pants.![]()
I'll ride bitch if you want to stay above 12sec.Originally posted by JCzx12
