I didn't get a pit pass because my kid supposedly had stuff to do till about 2:30... he is 7 year old, She had him doing some important shit... then she (EX) tells me he is free all day so now I'm looking at the the pit party, can I just buy a pit pass on the spot? Any idea how much??

what do you guys think parking will be like? can't be a busy as a Pats game, right? i've only been to Gillette once for the JDay Expo and the place was empty.
EDIT: reason i ask is because we have people telling us to park like 15min away. seems silly.

Probably won't be anywhere near a Patriots game but the only time it will matter would be after the race when you want to leave and traffic backs up getting out of the lots.
They have a pretty good grasp on how to handle traffic at Gillette. When I went to the winter classic we thought we'd be sitting in traffic forever but the traffic flowed out of the lots quite well and we were on 495 within 5-10 minutes of getting into our car.
rad. thanks for the info, Joel. that's what i was hoping to hear.

We went for Monster Jam last year and purposely sat in the parking lot afterwards for 30 minutes or so. Getting out after that wasn't so bad.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
This is what we tend to do at big gatherings like this. No point rushing to end up sitting in the truck anyway. Might bring an extra few hot dogs or something to have dinner in the lot after the races.
What time are you guys aiming to be there? I'm planning to make most of the day of it, but the pit party stuff repeats 3 time over, so I don't think we'll miss much getting there 10-11 or so. Just wonder about how full parking might be by then.
So we bought the groupon tickets and got section 238. I don't think it will be too bad of a view. Only funny (not so funny?) thing is looking at the gillette seat map, we are in one of the "non-alcoholic" seating sections. We'll see if they're enforcing that tomorrow.
We weren't planning to go until 3ish.

we had great seats in the 106 section, we also scored a couple of press box passes. watched the heat races from up there.
saw a few NESR peeps like Joel and wild bill. even ran into JRod at the thor tent.
once we got out of the lot and out on the main rd, i was apparently the only one that read the huge sign that said to use the breakdown lane. passed everyone i was stuck behind and ran it all the way to 95 lol

I had fun. I got a little sunburn.
I don't know if I just checked it off the list, or if I'd be a repeat customer though.

Great racing. I liked it. My seats were right under the LOUDSpeakers, so if I had to find something to bitch about, it'd be the volume level of the announcers voice when his pitch raises as if his balls have been put in a vice, along with shitty music during every race start, drowning out the beautiful symphony of motocross. Seriously, I'd bring earplugs next time for the PA (and I used to enjoy playing a 100 watt Marshall stack loud enough to shake stuff off walls and shelves)
Other than that, I thought The whole thing was well done. I'd go again. REALLY wish there were some local dudes to root for...
I had great seats. I didn't see any of you guys. I did see Jrod tho. I took my 15 year old nephew who had never been to a race of anykind. He's hooked. It was a good time. My only regret was not waiting in line to get his picture taken with the Monster Energy Girls. He kept saying how good looking they were LOL
They really should point out the local guys. I didn't go but AJ Catanzaro made the 450 main via the LCQ. He's from connecticut but I think using a Georgia address now as he's training at a Georgia facility. Dakota Alix in the 250 is from VT. And jimmy Decotis of geico honda is from mass but is doing west coast. In any event much less local guys attempting than in the past.

I brought ear plugs specifically for that reason. I had been to an SX event before and had the same reaction.
Had a good time catching up with a couple of different groups of people at the Pit Party. I question whether the white helmeted human that got out of the trophy truck drift show was actually Gronkowski. The white helmeted person was no where near as physically large as Gronk is.
The 250 race was definitely some good racing watching the lead pack riders filter up through and race each other for the podium was cool.
450 race was pretty much a sleeper. Noticed something wasn't right with Dungey and his bike set up during the heat races and the first time they hit the whoop section and Roczen ripped through them and Dungey still had the issues he had in the heat it was pretty much over. Watching Anderson ride is cool wish he got more TV time during the normal broadcasts.
Had fun, sat behind and end zone with start-finish jump coming towards us, my boy LOVED it!
Was chilly at the end and I was already sick, but didn't want to miss the event, what a blast!
I was there as well, got to see BJ Baldwin smoke a few tires.
Made it into the stadium to watch the last couple of practice sessions and qualifying as well.
Sat in the club section, found out they had guiness on tap and the rest was history.
All around good time and will be going back next year assuming they bring it back to Gillette.
Hahaha^
